Every other writer has commented on the regular Benidorm attractions from the lovely beaches, coffee bars ( "Ku" being our favourite), and drinking bars.
However, there is a severe detriment to the enjoyment of any facility in Benidorm, that being the filthy pavements. The Spanish love for dogs is probably only equalled by our own in the UK.
Practically all dog walkers, with the exception of a few, were determined to demonstrate to the world at large just how efficient their dogs digestive system could convert wholesome doggy food into disgusting pavement deposits, generally down the centre of the pavements making avoidance in the dark impossible.
Come on Benidorm, your visitors have not travelled thousands of miles to take part in pavement slaloms. It's time for action. If you had efficient enforcement officers, of the same calibre as those that issue hundreds of parking violation tickets a day, perhaps your town would be even more enjoyable.
I know that enforcement is a contentious issue as years of laws in the UK have not prevented similar anti social behaviour from filthy, irresponsible dog owners.
Give it a try, you may be surprised!
