“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Fantastic location beside most of the sights. Three min walk to aerobus stop.
Good recommendations from friendly hotel staff for restraunts and sightseeing.
This hostal is a cross between a youth hostal and small boutique hotel. Rooms are nicely furnished but basic and has common areas with couches, televisions. Perfect base for a short stay in Barcelona.

I stayed in this hostel one night with my boyfriend, and one night by myself. It is in a very convenient location; easy walk to the metro and airport shuttle bus stop, even with rolling luggage. Also an easy walk to the Rambla, Old City, Barcelona City Museum, lots of department stores, shopping and restaurants. It is very safe; the front door and doors to separate floors of the hostel are kept locked at all times (you will receive a key when you check in). The rooms were spotlessly clean but very small and basic (bed, small desk, bathroom, no decorations, basic white paint on the walls). The front desk personnel spoke English well and were helpful with directions to tourist destinations and restaurant recommendations. There is an "all-you-can-eat" salad/buffet place across the street if you want something cheap, filling and quick. The furniture in the common areas is definitely worn out but useable. There is a computer on each floor that can be used by guests for no additional fee. If you plan to be out exploring the city all day, this is a good option for a safe, clean place to sleep.

We were this downtown hotel in 07/2011

positive points :
- The location of the hotel : full central, and close to main metro station
- The design of the room was very modern and original, especially the bathroom

negative points :
- The room in which we were was quite small, the bed and the wall were separated by only a meter away. But I think that the other rooms are larger, we could take a look on some during the laundry service.
- The completion of the room door was not well adjusted to the ground, leaving a gap of 3 cm from the ground, which made any noise from the hallway being well heard in the room.
- no breakfasts.

I just stayed 2 nights in Barcelona in this hostal, after I had a weekend with the family in an apartment, and I can definitely recommend it.
The room was good, newly renovated and the bathroom small but sufficient and all very clean .
for the price , definitely worth, and considering the location, absolutely perfect
Unfortunately had the window open and some people made a lot of noise while coming back to the hostal, but nothing I can blame on the hotel , rather the guests

We loved our all too brief stay at this hotel.
We chose to stay in a balcony room which was very spacious, well laid out, with lovely decor and spotlessly clean.
The only downside to this room was noise. Not from the street it didn't worry us at all on one of the night we had noisey neighbours ( but they were really enjoying themselves)
We found both Joanna and Path who manned reception wonderfully friendly, very helpful and they offered great advice on tickets and how to get about.
There is a guest lounge which provides coffee and tea making facitlites (free), TV and free internet.
The hotel in in a very central location making it very easy to get to the beach, old city and all the modernista sights. It is also a very easy place for public transport - near Placa Catalunya for buses to the airport and to Park Guell, very close to 2 metro stations one of which is on the same line as Barcoloneta making it easy to get to the beach and Franca railway station for those like ourselves coming in by train.
We had a great stay. Thanks

i stayed in Goya in Jan 2012 for 3 days. It was a big surprise to have a room with private bathroom for 50 euro a night after trekking thru Europe most of Dec and Jan. it was newly renovated with a large living room with coffee machine and TV and free computer use.

The location is great, near Gothic district and 2 blocks away from the airport shuttle stop. coffee shop right across the street and numerous restaurants 2-4 blocks away. For my solo trip, this was an awesome jump off point each day for the different sections of the city.

The staff members were helpful and friendly as well. I would go back and stay again any time.

We hate to be critical of the hotel. Although it was very clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff excellent, and the location fantastic, we would not stay again. The room was so small we felt claustrophobic, with two single beds lined up in a row. The walls were paper thin and we were woken up one night at 11pm and the next at 4am by noisy occupants next door. We noticed the rooms either side were much larger, and one seemed to be empty - but our request for a bigger room could not be met for some reason

Room Tip: Make certain it is explained clearly what size room is being offered
