Was not too sure what to expect when we arrived at the hotel due to where it was situated - but once arriving and settling in we went off to find Clot station and we didn't look back. We used the Metro on a regular basis and even went to Sitges one day which was very easy.

The hotel and bedrooms were clean and were of a good size for two people - we were in one of the rooms in the front and the noise from the traffic was very bad, but when you shut the windows it did shut a lot of noise out, but you got used to it - and although the area was residential there were plenty of shops and restaurants and bars to choose from if you had spent all day out and didn't want to go back into Las Rambla for dinner.

The breakfast buffet was quite extensive, although they had cooked English breakfast, most of the days the hot plates were cold, but the buffet was very good. The only thing was if you waited for the waitress to come and ask if you wanted tea or coffee you wait a long time as you have to go the bar and request it by taking your cup and saucer with you - but it was no big deal.

We used the safe in the room where you got a key from the receptionist and left a deposit.

The bar/restaurant on the corner by the traffic lights leading to the station was excellent, the food was good and they had a good selection of spirits and a nice atmosphere.

I have to say that I would be quite happy to visit this hotel again on my own and also another visit to Barcelona is a must.

Being familiar with the Catalonia chain of hotels from stays in Madrid, I was intrigued to see that they had a 3 star (only) property in Barcelona. (Madrid properties are 4 star and above.) It was recommended to me by my travel agent. Overall I was very satisfied by the property: the size of both the room and the bathroom were good and it was very clean, if a little tired. Shower pressure was excellent. I found all the staff on reception to be very courteous and friendly, with the exception of one of the night staff, who may actually have been a manager. The breakfast was a standard buffet breakfast in a Spanish hotel and the waiting staff were attentive. A nice feature was "help yourself" coffee at the breakfast bar. As other reviews have pointed out, the hotel is in a residential area and a bit far removed from the city centre, but the Metro is close, fast, reliable and safe. (Always use the exit C/Arago from the platform on Line 1; other exits will be a much longer walk back to the hotel.) My only minor complaint about the hotel is with the "snack bar". They do not have a full service restaurant but seem to pride themselves on their snack bar. I found that it had closed early two nights running. I only wanted a drink, nothing to eat, and was told this was absolutely impossible. I was referred to the high priced mini bar in my room. Not a satisfactory alternative. There is a PC in the lobby area where one can pay (2 euros for 10 minutes minimum) to access the internet and send/receive emails. More and more hotels are offering this welcome service. Unfortunately it was broken my last night there and precluded me from on-line check-in for my return flight, a disappointment, but not the end of the world. Re: Travel to and from the airport -- please note that the train to and from the airport (Linea C2) stops at El Clot - Arago. The journey takes just under 30 mins and the station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You can use one of the T10 tickets (metro, bus, train). The train to and from the airport arrives at Terminal 2. British Airways uses Terminal 1, so a short transfer by shuttle bus is necessary. I highly recommend the Hop on/Hop Off Tourist Bus. I also highly recommend a visit during the annual end of summer fesitival "Merce" or "Merced" at the end of September. There are events all day and into the night for 4 days running. There were amazing fireworks at Barceloneta every night at 10pm. Loved Barcelona!

Spent a 3 night break with my wife at this hotel. It is a bit away from the centre but is very handy for the Metro [nearest station 300 metres away goes by the lovely name of Clot].
The best way to use the local transport which is all integrated is to buy a 10 trip ticket for approx 7 euros. We managed to pack in all the sights in the time we were there. The hotel was comfotable and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.Barcelona is an excellent destination for a weekend break as witnessed by the mant stag and hen parties that go there.

We were surprised by the very good price-quality ratio and would go there again: quiet and clean room, very friendly staff, metro station very close

My wife and I stayed in this Hotel on the weekend 19-22 March 2009, we leave the frozen Moscow and found a good weather in Bacelona.
The hotel location is good - 1 minute to Metro station "Clot", where you can easy reach to airport in 32 minutes and City Center in 10 minutes. I suppose, that the not short distance to attractive objects is advantage for that, anyway you can catch the Bus Turistic at nearest point at Gaudi Sagrada Familia, that takes you 10 minute walk.
The advantages of this hotel are: good location, low price, nice window view (you can see in the my photos), tasty classical brekfast.
The disadvantages: room's safe was broken, bad sound proofing between rooms, high level of street noise.
Be more careful and keep an eye your bags at the sightseeing points.
