“Return visit to oasis hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

another enjoyable time in barcelona, returning to the oasis hotel for the second time.

the Oasis was once again an enjoyable visit with a small but clean and tidy room with a view along the main street (room 106) (could do with a little more storage space, but in truth nowhere to put it). Reception Staff were once again excellent, well mannered, very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was the usual cheese -ham toast - fruit - scrambled egg (which I don't eat anyway) and Bacon which appears to be boiled and for me spoiled but this is there way of doing it, so not for me , but each to there own. Enough to choose from so will not go hungry.

If I had anything but good to say is that the toilets on the first floor which are used for departing guest were dirty and not up to the Oasis normal standard. and on first appearance of the hotel from the outside looked a little dismal and could be off putting to anyone who has not been before, the curtain in the reception window looks like it needs upgrading or washing.

Anyway hoping to return again next year for another stay at the Oasis which is ideal for beach or city break.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view as I believe some rooms look into the inner of the building.

I spent a week on holiday in Hotel Oasis in March 2013. The location is excellent, between Barceloneta and Borne, near to beach, walking distance from La Rambla, 100m away from Barceloneta metro station and huge amount of great restaurants nearby.

However, due to central location on Pla de Palau, the traffic is heavy and noisy and in case you happen to get an outbound room from the lower front section, it may be disturbing. I was first given a room from the front building corner in 1st floor, basically from the crossing, and had hard time to get sleep. Luckily, thanks for friendly and helpful service, I was given more quiet inbound room for the rest of the nights.

Rooms were very stylish, clean and in good condition. Especially bathroom was nice, equipped with rain shower. Room had TV and safe, although safe was fastened to a shell which was not fixed, so whole safe could have been stolen quite easily.

Service was friendly and helpful, staff was speaking pretty good English. The staff was flexible and helped us to change to more silent rooms. I also happened to fall sick while staying there and they called me a doctor for a visit. They also remembered to ask me afterwards my condition.

Wi-fi was available for extra fee (3€ for 24h by that time), but signal was varying heavily and did not work properly in my first room. In the second room wi-fi worked perfectly.

Breakfast was served in the hotel and we tested it one morning, but found it overpriced (10€ by that time) for the offering and compared to prices and quality of the surrounding cafes.

As an overview, I would warmly recommend this hotel and would like to stay there again, if I happen to visit in Barcelona.

Room Tip: Inbound (windows to narrow area in the middle of the building) rooms are more quiet, but without vie...

Just come back from a mini break at the Hotel Oasis and give it a thumbs up all round...Yes the room are small but as they are only for sleeping in not living in whats the problem?,clean towels daily, room cleaned daily, lovely continental breakfast, cereal, toast, coffee, tea, cakes, ham, bread rolls, cheese,a feast. The staff are very friendly and helpfull . A great location with seafront within 5 mins walking distance,Ramblas 10 mins,Metro station and Train 2 mins away..Buy a 10 Euro metro/bus/train ticket and get 20 journeys..and when entering the metro, swipe your card and pass it back to your companion,,they get to use it too.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the lifts as some people dont respect quiet times

Staff is very friendly and welcoming, with good English speaking.
Closed to all attractions as La Ramblas, El Gothic, Santa Del Maria, short distance walk to the beach, metro and bus station is just next block. Good location.
Buffet breakfast was good with many of choice, we had bacon and egg scramble on last Friday..
The only low side is room is small, same as the bath room, paid wifi is terrible slow in room 320, or not connect at all. No kettle to boil hot water, or getting any hot water after the Oasis bar closed.
Prefer to free wifi in few cafe in Santa Del Maria area.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Good english. Rooms small but very clean. Great location. Near to the marina, beach and ideal for sight seeing. Didn't eat breakfast here. Loads of places to eat nearby. Good value for money.

This is a good value hotel close to marina , bus touristic stop is across The road.It is
a short walk to the beach and las ramblers.Metro stop very close. The room was small but had all we needed for a 3 night break, breakfast is a cold continental style but was adequate and there is lots of eating places and bars within easy distance ,this hotel is basic but value for money and a good base for a short visit .no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms .large shower but no bath .This hotel is good for a few days break but I would not stay longer as there is no outside space or lounge etc
