Because this hotel is in the Calls you get no traffic noise so it was very central but very quiet at night (you may beable to hear your neighbours occasionally but then you can in most hotels). The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly and helpful I asked for extra pillows and they appeared immediately, we were recommended to got see the magic fountains and given very precise details on how to get there by reception. The cathedral is just around the corner and the charming narrow streets and alleyways of the Calls have an atmosphere and charm of ages gone by shame that the grafitti artists seem to think that they can add something extra. The ramblas is 5 mins walk. The only thing I can say would be an improvement in the hotel would be tea and coffee facilities, you can get a cold drink from a drinks dispenser in the foyer and a large bottle of chilled water for 1 euro from reception, we took a kettle for our room but would have been brilliant if there had been 1 provided, also a hairdryer would have been good. All in all this is a very good value for money hotel where I will stay again when I return to Barcelona. Would recommend eating in Placa de Sant Miguel just off Placa de St Jaume which is 2 mins walk away also Bar La Fuste on Passigo de colom 3 course meal and a wine for 12.50 euro excellent value . Sights to see are The cathedral , Olympic village,Mirador, Magic fountains of montjuic, gaudi buildings on passiego de gracia, Parc Guell, La Bouqueria market, Barcelona football ground Nous camp, Sagrada Familia , Second day we walked from Hotel right up to Parc Guell, right to top of parc for view over city and then down to Sagrada Familia then got the metro home it was a long walk but proves it can be done and is enjoyable to see the sights as you walk.
