“What more would you want!?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Firstly, in reference to the review below, I would doubt that the staff in this hotel would steal. Although we left most of our belongings i.e. passports/keys in the safe, we did leave money and other belongings lying around the room most days without a penny going missing or belongings being moved around. This does not imply that the rooms were not cleaned, as they were cleaned daily with new towels and beds made.

Anyway, on to the hotel. As far as we were concerned, everything about it was AMAZING! The hotel is beautiful, location great, bed comfy, balcony pleasant enough, rooms great with good facilities and bathrooms spotless with everything you need.
Some other comments have suggetsed that the hotel isnt near to anything!?!? The reviewers cannot have wandered around enough. Sure, there may not be 'bars' as such, but there were plenty cafes that served food, and beers, there is a supermarket nearby, a metro station about 2 minutes walk away, its within reasonably easy walking distance of las ramblas etc. The Metro station in barcelona is great anyway, so you can get everywhere really easily.

We never ate in the hotel as we preferred to eat wherever we ended up during the day, but everything about the place suggested that everything would be of high quality.

I would definitely stay here again, and definitely recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcont, we were in 711 which had a great view

This hotel is great ! It is in the Eixample, away from tourist area but is only 2 blocks from Hospital Clinic Metro station. From here, can go to Sagrada Familia or Passeig de Gracia within minutes, very convenient. Taxi to airport about 30 euro and takes 25 min. Buy a T10 tickets and gives you 10 trips on the metro. Save money.

We were a group of 3. It is not easy to find a comfortable family room in a European hotel. It was different this time, we were offered a triple, and was huge in size, with plenty of luggage storage space, it was modern and very clean. It is on the 9th Floor, which has its private outside balcony with table and sun loungers (though it was at that time a bit too windy to use). The room was at the back of the hotel, not facing the Comte d'Urgell (the main street), was quieter. I suppose this is one of the best rooms in this hotel. The bathroom was huge, with black marble and mirrors, two sinks, 2 showers and hair dryer (has a very hot setting). I often found hotel rooms quite gloomy, but this one was sufficiently illuminated. There were two LCD TV’s and the free wifi was very stable. The only thing missing was tea and coffee making facilities in the room which I had also found in other 4 stars hotels in Spain.

Staff were friendly and efficient. I arrived to check-in at the hotel too early and was asked to wait in the lounge for half an hour until the room was ready. I was amazed to be informed 5 min later that the room was made ready. .

This is our first trip to Spain and Barcelona and we loved it. The architecture is amazing, beaches fantastic, food great, people friendly; just a wonderful city. Hope to revisit Barcelona in future and stay in U232 again.

My wife and I ended our Europe trip in mid June at this hotel and I am glad we did. We arrived in Barcelona on a Saturday 6/15/13 in the morning for a cruise. We went a 100 miles (160.93 KM) per hour for 7 days. Our last evening was spent her and it ended our trip perfectly

The hotel was very clean and the front desk staff were super nice. There is a lobby with lots of seating.

We stayed in an upgraded King room, room 910. There was a flat screen TV, sitting area, mini fridge. There was a coffee maker with coffee in the room. The bathroom was modern and clean. It was HUGE. There were 2 shower heads and a tube for two with partial glass enclosure. The toilet was like those all over European hotels (two different flush buttons).

Overall, this hotel is great for a short stay or long stay. The staff are great and very helpful. It is a little ways off the beaten path but super easy to get sights on the metro.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the better room and you will be glad you did. The room we stayed in was 910 and the view...

The hotel itself is good, stayed here two times. Wouldn't stay here again though. On my last visit I had a leather belt stolen from my room. The bag it was in was left in the rom and they had dropped a part from the belt on the floor of the bathroom, probablytrying it on.

Dear U232 Hotel guest,

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay with us. I sincerely regret the unfortunate incident that took place with your missing belt. However, I would prefer to believe and refer to it as the belt being misplaced or taken with the room linen, rather than stolen. I completely trust my team and would strongly doubt that someone would take anything from a room.

If your future travel plans bring you back to Barcelona, and you are willing to give us another opportunity to serve you, please contact me directly at apareja@nnhotels.com

Best regards,

Asun Pareja

Just back from a 4 night trip to Barcelona where we stayed in Hotel U232. I have been to Barcelona on 3 other occasions and chose U232 from other reviews on tripadvisor. We booked a "top" room and were absolutely delighted with it. The room was spacious, comfortable and very modern. The bathroom was gorgeous and the outside balcony with sun loungers was a dream after a busy day sightseeing. Breakfast was great with lots of choice from fresh fruit and yogurts to hot buffet style food, lots of bread to choose from as well as delicious pastries. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient and the bar area relaxing in the evening. We could not fault U232, the location is great, placa de catalunya was a 20 minute walk away or the metro was 5 mins away. Taxi to la ramblas was only 6 euros. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We booked a "top" room as the hotel call it which has its own outside balcony with table a...

We paid a little extra to get a "Top Room", the best the hotel has. It was around 160 euro per night and the room was amazing. The bathroom was huge, with black marble and mirrors, two sinks and an amazing shower. The room was gorgeous - spacious and very comfortable. The large terrace with comfortable outside furniture was a real bonus - great for drinks after a tiring day sightseeing. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were v friendly. Reception area and bar are lovely, drinks reasonably priced.

I noticed some of the reviews commented that location was not great but that's not the case. It's only a 20min walk to Placa Catalunya/Ramblas, and if you don't want to walk there's a Metro 1 minute from the hotel. A taxi to Ramblas is 6 euro. The area is safe, clean and quiet with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. We stayed at Hotel Barcelona Princess before and although it's very nice, u232 is nicer and closer.

We have been to Barcelona 4 times now but this was out first time at u232 - we will definitely stay here again next time.

Let's just start with the location. It's super!

It doesn't matter how you travel from the airport, either via Aerobus (my personal fav.) or via train. You are here in under 45 min.

5 min to nearest metro station (Hospital Clinic, blue line). You really can't beat it.

The staff was somewhat friendly, some more than others...

The rooms were superb, bathroom great and a big tv.

The AC was my main concern, and might be what acctually would have given this hotel 3 stars instead.
First, you can only set it to a minimum of 19 degress. For example in july, you will need to have it lower just to keep up with the heat from outside.

Then it runs in a very slow pace, it's really hard to get the room temperature down lower then around 25 degrees. Which is really bad if your plan is to get some sleep at all...

But hey, maybe it was just my room. I'm gonna give this hotel another try next visit!
