“Perfect central location for a short sight seeing visit to Barcelona”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

The reviews I read before going were very variable and, although I considered them before booking, once there I was pleasantly surprised. The Hotel is as near to the Centre as it's possible to get and is perfect for walking around the Gothic Quarter and along La Rambla. Some previous reviewers didn't like the breakfast but we found a very good selection of well cooked food, even if there were a few things that we didn't fancy. The Hotel is not brand new or in pristine condition but was certainly acceptable if you don't want fancy surroundings, at fancy prices. I would be quite happy to spend another break there and may well do again in the future.

Room Tip: Previous reviewers have commented about noise from outside at night. We has a room on the first floo...

Excellent hotel. The food I would rate at 4 star.Bedrooms were adequate with plenty of storage space and a spacous balcony with 2 chairs and a table.Staff were very friendly and approachable, Mary and Johnathan always had a smile for every one.Bar drinks were 2 x 1 all day up to 12am which helped the finances, but the only draw back was getting served when the staff were busy,a bell needs to be installed in the bar area to eliminate this problem.Pool area was large enough for the size of the hotel, with a small pool, however because of the location and the time of year we were chasing the sun round most of the day.Eating out.Excellent Traditional English food, try Deja Vu in the old town two streets up from Pinocchio’s near the dove park.Four coarse meal starts at about 9.5 Euros.

Comfortable hotel, clean room (single room small but adequate), good breakfast, ideal location in the heart of the old town. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Reasonably priced. I recommend it as a base.

great location, close to everywhere, in a nice street with lots of shops and resturants
the size of the room is ok with nice shower. our room has 2 windows with a nice view but the other room was without a window,
breakfast is ok but without vegtables and only 2 kinds of cheese.
only a few members of the staff were friendly.

Room Tip: a room with a window and a view

We spent 5nights at this hotel on our Barcelona city break. In the begining we had a problem with the bathroom but the staff called a plummer and he fixed it. Then we had a problem with the air conditioning which it didn't work. It was February and quiet cold in Barcelona at that time. We had to change the room to other floor where the air conditioning was working. The breakfast was good and we loved the restaurant.

My Wife and I stayed at the Rialto for three nights during October. I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews on here, but I am glad to report back that we had a good experience.
Firstly as mentioned by other travellers the location is fantastic, it is a 2 minute walk off La Rambla and a 1 minute walk to Plaza Real. The gothic quarter is on the doorstep and we could see the Cathedral from our room.
The hotel itself is was clean, the reception staff friendly. Our room was at the front of the hotel, giving us great views to the town hall square one direction and down to La Ramble the other. The room we had in the hotel is on the smaller side for a hotel room, but then the building is old, located within the Gothic quarter. That said the room was presentable and had a well equipped en suite shower room, with a large walk in shower. There was a Juliette balcony overlooking the street which was also nice to leave open to get a breeze.
The only down side to the hotel room was that there no tea or coffee making facilities, which would have been nice whilst getting ready. There were vending machines on two floors if you could not wait for breakfast though.
our breakfast was included, you could eat as little or as much as you liked. There was a very good selection, cooked breakfast, pastries, cereal, toast, ham, cheese, there should be something for everyone. There was also unlimited tea, coffee juice etc.
Overall I cannot fault this hotel, the price, location and service were very good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front if you want a view on high floor

Visited the Rialto hotel 10th - 12th Oct myself my wife and our friends. On reading previous reviews we where a bit apprehensive on this hotel !
However the 4 of us where pleasantly surprised with our overall stay. We had 2 x rooms booked and arrived early ! However one room was ready so we could all put our luggage in there and the other was next door ! reception staff very helpful ! The two rooms where at the front and only 2 x floors up, average size rooms clean furnished ok, flat screen TV, new fitted shower room, great shower! All in all good rooms and we had no noise issues ?
Had breakfast with our deal and that was all good as well ! Yes more the continental type but plenty of it and good quality (another coffee machine would have been a bonus) even had a staff member doing the toast so no waiting! Barcelona was great ! Would go back there and stay at this hotel again :)
