“Great Location, Small Rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

After reading some negative reviews i was a bit worried. When i arrived to the hotel i was impressed. The lobby looked good for 3 stars hotels the service was as expected.

Positive things: Location location location. walking distance to the Ramblas and the metro, walking distance to the Cathedral. good service, clean rooms, good breakfast (again for 3 stars hotel don't expect much).

Negative: very small room, we almost couldn't open 2 traveling bags. No window in the room (at least at our room didn't see other rooms). the walls are very very thin you can hear every noise from outside the room.

Bottom line: recommended for 3-4 nights

Having read other negative reviews was slightly worried but was pleasantly surprised! Location is fab, very close to La Rambla, Gothic Quarter, Metro & overland trains. Room was quite small but spotlessly clean & had excellent air-con! Sheets & towels freshly laundered & new looking bathroom with great shower. No view but who needs a view when there's so much to see within minutes of leaving the hotel. Was on top floor, room 604. Upside - no one above you, downside - waited ages for the lift! Would ask for this room again though. Good buffet breakfast but very busy. Overall, really pleased we picked this hotel & would visit again.

Good value for money. Great location! The hotel is located just a couple of 100 m from La Rambla, and there are a lot of bars and restaurants just outside the door. It's an old hotel, but the rooms are clean and with aircon. The staff was very helpful and offered me an other room after I had a small complaint. The breakfast was very nice with a wide selection.

We stayed at the Rialto, in Barcelona, clean, tidy room, good air condition, daily towels changed beds made well, we had breakfast, good international selection.
The reception spoke decent ENGLISH and directed us to the Nou camp, via the metro, about 20 minutes away total.
Worth the trip, I found Barcelona itself fantastic, but very expensive, tapas mad!!!!! The beach was about 25 minutes walk cram packed, and the sea was dirty and had a lot of rubbish in.
Would I go again? Probably not, but glad I did. Would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Flor one is easier to walk to than use a lift!

I travelled with a friend. Got the holiday quite cheap. The hotel was ok overall, but considering what we paid, it was very good value. This hotel could hardly be better located, and there are some handy shops for cold drinks and snacks, as well as bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
We weren't too keen on the staff as a rule though.

Room Tip: Just ask for a quiet room.

This hotel's location is the main reason to recommend it. If you are a pure tourist who wants to see and feel the heartbeat of the city, then this is the place to stay. Street noise could be annoying but our room (219) was noise-proof. There are not many staff but all of them was very friendly. Breakfast was more than enough and expected. We had a great time there.

Room Tip: our room was wonderful (219). you may want to stay in the higher floors to avoid noise. our room was...

There was nothing wrong with this hotel, but the room prices are crazy considering what you get. Wi-Fi internet is NOT FREE, but if you the breakfast included package, the coffee is very good and the food varied. There are better deals in my opinion in Barcelona than this hotel that seems to be booked by tour companies.

Room Tip: Many rooms are facing the street (very loud at night especially in the summer and on weekends). Ask...
