I stayed in this hotel with my friend whilst enjoying the sights and sangria in Barcelona before moving on to our next location - was a fantastic place to stay. Very clean and basic which is exactly what you need when you are just beaching and travelling and drinking your way around the city!

If you are looking for luxury then it is just a basic need kind of place but still more than enough for a convienient and nice stay in a hotel.

The staff were more than friendly and were always willing to help me out with directions considering my poor spanish! We also came back to the hotel from nights out at all hours and they were more than friendly at 6am!

Only problem we had was hearing the dogs that were next door crying becasue their owners had left them whilst they went out - not very likely to happen again though so proves this hotel is worth your while! Enjoy La Ramblas! :)

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Parallel hotel in Barcelona. Had a fantastic time. Was pleasantly surprised when the cab stoped at the Parallel. We walked in the clean and friendly reception area, checking in was easy and we only had to wait about 2mins until we were given our keys.
We were given room 110, it was on the corner so we got a nice view of the street outside. Sometimes it was abit noisy at night but nothing to worry about really!. The room was Very clean, the bed was nice and the bathroom was really nice too!. It was a spacious enough room with a tv, mini bar and safe. The rest of the hotel i.e hallways etc were also very clean.
There was a breakfast room but me and my boyfriend decided to go out for brekky in the local cafes.
The reception staff were helpful, they let us have a map and marked off where the hotel was so we could always find it, and they were happy to order us a cab when we needed one. The Parallel is about a 10-15min walk to the Las Ramblas.

Overall, I would stay here again, nice clean hotel with everything you could need, much more like a 3star than 2star!

The Parallel is a clean basic friendly hotel about 10 mins walk from Las Ramblas. If you want luxury I wouldn't stay here but if you're on a budget you can't do better

Helpful staff - Rooms spotless as are bathrooms
Area looks a little run down but have never had problems and have returned to the hotel at all hours (midnight & well into the early hours)

They have triple rooms - superb & removes the need for one of a group to room alone

Lots of typical local bars & cafes nearby - great for breakfast, coffee or something stronger

Great stay if you expect the your basic needs to be in order. The only downside was the fact that the staff said the airco wouldnt be switched on before may and it was allready pretty warm in april. Would go there again for a future stay!
