Wife had some concerns given the negative reviews, but after our stay she told me: "This was definitely the right hotel."

Friendly staff that spoke English. At check in they worked out a nice map for us of nearby places. They have been great trying to advise and help us out through the transportation hassles caused by a general strike that's set for 11/14/12.

Easy 8 minute walk to Las Ramblas, steps from Metro. Although a busy street if you are in an upper room the noise is not an issue at all. We stayed on the 9th floor, got a jacuzzi tub and a terrace with a lovely view of the city. Drinking cava on your balcony while making dinner plans on free wifi = happy visit. Big comfy bed, Europe style bathroom, bidet, short shower stall, but good water pressure and hot water, the aforementioned jacuzzi tub a nice bonus. Did not eat at restaurant. Recommend Dino's across the street for breakfast --good coffee and chocolate croissants!

We spent a week end in this hotel - 2 nights - and we enjoyed a lot this stay. The bed are very confortable, the staff very competent, just few meters from Paral Lel metro station and not too far from the Rambla (around 10 mn by foot). The solarium is amazing at the top of the hotel. The breakfast is very good buffet. If I will have to go back in barcelona, I woud like to go back to this hotel. I really recommend it to you. The only bad point is the noise of the street if the window of your room is on the street, but we were on the 8th floor and it was ok

We stayed one night and enjoyed the spacious room and excellent staff who we greatly appreciated all their attention and help during our short stay. I would recommend them.
Location was great for walking around to experience the streets of Barcelona. We set up the
reservation via email which worked very nicely. The staff was just wonderful. There was no language barrier at all, it was just marvelous!

We stayed 1 day before and 2 days after our cruise. The hotel was very well located for us, great restaurants close by, and a short walk to La Rambla, the City Market and Christopher Columbus Circle to catch the Hop-On/Off double-decker sightseeing bus. The hotel was very clean, with comfortable beds and all amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the front desk clerk who gave us a free room upgrade to a large corner room overlooking the street, maps and a coupon book for discounts at various places. Breakfast, 7 to 11, was varied and plentiful. Loved the Spanish potato tortilla and the tapas-like delicacies as well as regular bacon, eggs, fruit, etc. breakfast fare. We will certainly stay at this hotel again on our next trip!
