“Nice and decent hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

I spent 4 days in this hotel recently. Although a bit far from the center of the city (15-20 min by foot) there are many places to spent your day nearby like restaurants, cafe shops etc. Metro is 10-12 min by foot but taxis are not very expensive.

It wasn't really cheap, 105 euro per night with breakfast for the single room and 135 euro per night for the double with breakfast. The rooms were quite small but i have stayed in smaller ones but there clean every day with fresh tea and coffee facilities replaced daily.

The breakfast was very good and adequate. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout the day.

I would stay there again if the price is lower next time.

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel during our stay in Barcelona.

Location: It's located in the neighborhood of L'example, a nice residential and quiet place and just a few blocks from anywhere. Walk 6 blocks and you're in Passeig de Gracia or the university of Barcelona. From there using the Metro you can go anywhere. There're shops and restaurants nearby which are really good.
Room: The room was big, with a nice street view and a clean bathroom. Nothing to say much about it, typical Best Western hotel room but a bit nicer.

Breakfast was €13 per person, so we went t some fancy bars to have some instead. And we spent even less that one in the hotel.

Overall, a good stay, great location, nice surroundings, staff very helpful. Would stay again definitely.

Just spent a week at the Dante. The front desk staff got us into our room at 10:30am when we arrived by Taxi from Airport (35Euros). All week the staff took good care of our Sightseeing Bookings and directions to many thing (we walked a lot - as planned). There must be 30 spots to eat or have a beverage within 3 square block. Internet with printer (free) was very useful, WIFI to room was strong. We did not do the Breakfast Buffet as we prefered to stop a Cafe and Postri shops as we walked.

Room Tip: All rooms were quite - we did not want to be on 'Las Ramblas' due to horror stories of noise...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

summary: This hotel was ok. Location excellent. Food - lame. Bed- hard, Bathroom - nice/clean/modern

Long version: On the plus side: When we arrived, check in took 5 minutes. BUT there was also a cockroach about 2 inches long running across the lobby (which the bellboy stepped on and disposed off).

Room was nice, bathroom lovely with some extra touches like shampoo and a comb. BUT the bed was really hard and the hotel opposite was having building work done so they were banging away quite early in the morning.

Initally I was going to book breakfast when I booked the room online (for £16.00 per person). For some reason I didn't and then had to pay 13 euros per person on the day at the hotel. The breakfast was not worth this at all. They had a few croissants, scrambled egg and one spanish omlette cut up in to a 100 pieces. The fruit they had was hard and sour. Tip for improvement: need more veg options and more hot options for breakfast. Suffice to say we found a cafe nearby for the remainder of our stay.

Check out was also relatively quick. The lady at recpetion provided us with a map and highlighted where the hotel was and where the main shopping district is.

If in town for a weekend/ 3 days I would 100% recommend the 'blue' tour bus company (which isn't called that but it has a blue bus) that does the hop on/off tour. If you make reservations via the hotel you get a few euros off.

The location is great - literally 5 blocks/ 15minutes walk from catalunya and las ramblas. There are 2 halal restaurants around the corner. There is also a chocolate shop called choclate and vanilla or something that sells some nice gifts nearby - MUCH MUCH cheaper than las ramblas market.

There is a pharmacy on every street corner in Barcelona, and a chinese pound shop down the street for when you forget your travel adapter. There is also a pretty handy supermarket 2 doors down from the hotel -sells water for 0.25 euros.

Barcelona can be seen in 2 days max.

The hotel staff were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable though the bed was a little hard. The breakfast room was very nice and the selection of food excellent. Staff worked hard to make the stay enjoyable. Would definitely use again.

We enjoyed our stay here mainly because of the staff. . always friendly and helpful.
The room was a good size and always clean. We thought the breakfast was very good but we can't advise eating in the bar cafe. The food was poor and we were then helpfully advised by reception about good local restaurants.
We took the blue open top bus to get around the city. . Perfect! Stopping point was a short walk away.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel for few nights in a triple room (a double bed which is actually 2 very big single beds attached together and 1 sofa bed). The room is relatively big enough as opposed to other triple rooms in other hotels (not so easy to find). A nice room. Toilet and bath are seperated and are quite new.
The room is very clean, very quiet, we didn't hear a thing from the street since the balcony faced the yard. Well, don't expect too much from this yard. It's just a neglected backyard of other buildings, nothing to look at. BTW, there is a bell of a church or something which is seen from our balcony that rings everyday from 08:00 AM and I think that on Sunday it rings since 07:00 AM but it didn't interrupt us. It was quite nice since we were already up by 08:00.
The only negative thing I can think of is the sofa bed which is in the room. It is not comfortable at all, the mattress was too thin, you could feel the board underneath. It may be bearable for a child who has a light weight but for an adult it's not the best solution. However, again, that's the only negative thing I can think of.
The hotel area is safe, there is a supermarket and fruit/vegetable store right next door and 2 italian restaurants, barely 2 blocks away from the hotel. You can walk to la rambla, no problem at all.
The staff is great, attentive, eager to help, to instruct, to answer your needs and that's the most important thing in my opinion. We felt welcomed, we felt we're not a burden when we asked for something. They were all truly helpful and kind!

Overall, I highly recommend on this hotel! You won't regret it.
