This is an average hotel and it was a two day stop before our sea cruise. We were booked for Bed and Breakfast only but the hotel offered good service and was on the tour-bus green-line route. The hotel is also suitably situated on the beach from therefor the absence.

Room Tip: Hotel is good for a short stop over

This was our 3rd time at this hotel, our last visit was back in 2010, but we were quite disappointed this time.
Our room seemed particularly small and we didn't even have a safe in our room, nor tea/coffee making facilities, which were provided on our last stay.
Room was clean, but the bed was hard so didn't have the best sleep during our stay. You could also hear the water going through the pipes in the hotel when other guests flushed their toilet or took a shower......not ideal.
Lovely location by the beach and away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, nearest metro station is about a 10 minute walk away.
Don't think we would stay here again if we were to return to Barcelona.
Would say this is an average 3 star hotel, not 4 star.

I stayed here whilst going to a conference in barcelona. The hotel was much smaller than the photos on their website show, there was no room service/restaurant in the late hours which was disappointing (I was starving at arrival!) The location was perfect though, literally across from the beach, which made the stay worth it. Staff were friendly, and the hotel is really close to the rail system/conference centre/beach. There's a cute little pizza place next door which was nice.

This hotel was a 3 star hotel on the beach front. Beautifully located with great views and minimal traffic passing out front, it was a serene break from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre. I would put this on par with a Holiday Inn, so far as the rooms were clean and basic, nothing fancy but nothing particularly exciting or stylish about them. Practically though this hotel ticked the boxes, with a 10 minute walk to the nearest Metro Station which took you directly to the City Centre in approximately 15 minutes, and because we spent all our time exploring we didn't end up spending too much time there anyway. The staffing was also pretty terrible. Upon arriving we discovered our room had a distinct 'drains' smell and was incredibly hot (so hot that when you'd finished taking a shower you needed another one straight after!!) We soon realised the smell was part and parcel of the room as it didn't improve over our 3 day stay and were told the rooms only had a heating function and not an air conditioning function due to it being the Spanish winter. We therefore slept with the window open which meant one night we were awoken by kids screaming & shouting and early morning traffic. The hotel was also clearly understaffed as we waited for long periods of time for food to be replenished at breakfast (and the queues to get seated after 8am, though we managed to pre-empt these, were horrendous) and waiting one night for a nightcap at the hotel bar we sat along with about 3 other groups to be served while the waiter firstly battled with technicalities with the till then was asked to help on the evening dinner shift so most of us got up and left after a disappointing 40 minute wait.
Granted our stay was from 29th December - 1st January and the hotel was near full capacity (so we were told at reception when we tried to move rooms) however the hotel management should have ensured staffing levels reflected this demand.
If you're looking for a basic 3 star quality hotel with sea views and to give you some respite from the city buzz then this is adequate. But if you're looking to spend any amount of time here or are looking for a gem, this is not the one for you.

Room Tip: Pick a high room without the drains smell!

This supposedly four star hotel is really a basic 3 star, and is badly hampered by its attempts to keep prices low as a way to counter the fact that it is some distance from the city centre.... yet somehow we still enjoyed our stay!
The hotel lets itself down badly in so many ways.
Our room (and this was also the case with the adjacent room) smelled of drains and was also very small. The air conditioning was set to only supply hot air as " it is Winter"- reception confirmed this was the case - despite the fact that the small rooms were extremely hot. That meant keeping the window open all night, disrupting our sleep with some traffic noise.
The safe in the room did not work, and we were advised that it might be the battery, but they did offer the use of a safe box adjacent to reception.
The experience of breakfast is quite something, and was repeated on all 3 days of our stay. Too few staff who could simply not cope with the number of guests. If the coffee machines were working (they dispense cheap tasteless brown froth typical of budget hotels) then there were no cups, and if the cups came there were no spoons. The food constantly ran out before being replenished, and it was very basic and the same every day.
In the evening we sat at the snack bar ready to order some drinks and snacks, but the one member of staff there was serving the waiters for the restaurant and despite saying he would come and serve us we gave up and left after 30 minutes.

Strangely though, if you expect and accept these shortcomings, the hotel is still a pleasant place to stay as a base to explore the city as long as you are happy using the metro trains which get you into the centre in around 15 minutes. It has a great position close to the beach and lovely flat walkway, and is a quiet haven away from the noise of the city. There are also some reasonably priced bars and shops nearby as this is very much a residential area.

Some real shortcomings then, but despite them all as long as you go not expecting a normal four star full service hotel, then you will still enjoy your stay as long as you keep a smile on your face!

This hotel is nicely located for the beach and also diagonal mar which has a decent choice of restaurants (but not very good shopping). It is a good metro ride from the centre though and some may not feel safe returning in the later hours. The hotel is reasonably clean and the shower is decent. The breakfast is a bit rubbish and obviously not worth €9 but it's acceptible. I do have a few issues with the hotel though; the bathroom has one of these doors that don't really shut so all can be heard and seen, the bed has a plastic sheet on it that makes a lot of noise when you move (and wakes you up), the bar stops serving early.
All in with the amount of hotels in the area, I would look to another one first before I return here next time.

Booked as an overnight stay after a cruise and was convenient for a short taxi ride from the ship. We were allowed to check in mid morning, which was helpful. Rooms were clean but basic . Think we were given the cheapest rooms as part of a cheap deal with our travel company . Very good for catching the hop on hop off bus to tour the city. Quite a way from the airport so taxi was expensive.

Thanks for your review. We are rebuilding the hotel in order to offer to our guests the most comfortable conditions . At the begining of 2014 it will be ready to enjoy it!
Meanwhile, the hotel is working like always, with the possibility to enjoy sea view rooms, non smoking rooms, quiet rooms, gym + sauna , etc.

We hope to see you back soon.
