This was the fourth time we had stayed in this hotel ( normally for up to a week) and we had never had cause to complain before.

Previously we had stayed in the nicer rooms on the upper floors but on this occasion we were one the second floor and the noise from adjacent rooms and downstairs rooms was appalling with the excited voices of a young Spanish group echoing in the corridors and doors opening and slamming shut all night despite many complaints to Reception.

We were staying one night on this occasion on our way home via Barcelona Airport and we were glad that we had to suffer only one night of torment.

The most peaceful rooms in this hotel are facing the back and although the view is pretty grim, at least you are not troubled with dogs barking in the flats opposite and the terrible noise made by the rubbish collectors who arrive just before midnight as you sometimes are in the front-facing rooms.

We made the mistake of eating lunch here the first time we stayed and it was so appalling that we did not even have breakfast there again. We breakfasted instead at the excellent Pennsylvania Bar down the street and had many delightful tapas meals at the lively but a little pricey Bang Bang Cafe next door to the hotel.

The staff all speak English and are very helpful and the rooms are comfortable and clean. I don't understand why the German gentleman in one of the reviews complained of having money stolen from his case because there are safes in every room!

There is a multi channel TV in every room with films in several languages although they cannot always be accessed at the advertised times abd a refund is required!

The area is very safe at night and the transport links and taxis plentiful and very cheap.

This was an excellent small hotel, especially when I was traveling on a set allowance for work.

The hotel is in a quiet residential street with good bus and metro links within 3 minutes walk, and the central Avinguda Diagonal within 15 minutes stroll, and the Nou Camp walkable in 30 mins.

It was a pleasant bonus to have a small private balcony, the breakfasts were good, and the staff helpful. I got a taxi from the airport, which was convenient as the hotel is on the right side of town.

Being in a residential area was nice, the local amenities weren't touristy or tacky, just pleasant.

This hotel is a short walk to Sarria and the Pedralbes, both worth a look.
