“Nice and Adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

7 of us stayed at the hotel Aragon for 2 nights as part of our birthday. It's a nice clean hotel but the twin room shad single beds which is always annoying, mean and seriously old fashioned for us 6ft plus blokes. The decor is very chintzy however it is very peaceful and clean. A lovely continental breakfast and polite staff. 3 star at best.

The room was very basic but clean and a perfectly suitable place to sleep. It's located in Eixample which is quite some distance from the action of Placa de Catalunya and Las Ramblas, but is a short walk from La Sagrada Família. The staff was very polite and helpful, but the food is horrific, don't eat it for any reason. If you don't want to walk to the action, I must say the taxis are fantastic, they are very reliable, inexpensive, and fast.

Just had a short break at this hotel. Great value for money. Staff were very helpful and professional. Room was clean comfortable and spacious. Downside was no fridge and location means that you have to use metro or taxis. Breakfast was excellent for continental hotel and we had meal in the hotel which was reasonable price and great food. very clean overall and had a great break. Some of the negative reviews seem unfair - location outside of city centre could be a problem but gives you peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle

Location: Close to metro and is only a short ride from the centre of Barcelona but the area is a bit run down and not the place to wander around on your own at night.

Rooms: Reasonable size but not very clean and fridge and bathroom smelt awful. Bed sheets had stains on. THe safe in the room was not even secured to anything and lifted straight out. We reported this 3 times and nothing was done about it.

Food: Only ate breakfast here but this was about the only good thing. Plenty of choice.

Staff: Not rude but could do with learning some basic customer service skills. Most of them could barely manage a 'hola!'

Price: Rooms were advertised at £70 per night and it was supposed to be a 3* but I'm not sure how they rate hotels in Spain cos it certainly wouldn't rate more than 1* for most people!

Barcelona is a beautiful city and we will be back but next time we will stay somewhere decent.

The hotel is close to the metro station and the airport train also stops there. Its a good 15 minute walk from Sagrada Familia, maybe 10-15 minutes from Cataluna by metro. The hotel was what we expected. Clean, simple, not too expensive. The bad part was there were no grocery stores near by, which we like to have while staying at a hotel, and no restaurants.
