“Great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

We booked this hotel as our first stop on our European honeymoon (also our first time to Europe at all). The hotel and rooms were very clean and staff was friendly. While the rooms weren't as big as we're used to in the US, it was plenty sufficient.

The only negative I have to say is about the beds, it is true that they have two twins sandwiched together. I expected this from reviews so it wasn't a surprise and it was fine, we both ended up snuggling one of the beds most nights!

The location is pretty great. Lots of shopping and great restaurants all in walking distance, something that was very important to us.

I saw a few reviews on here that mentioned the 100 Montaditos Cerveceria across the street from the hotel and how great a deal their beer is. Once arriving and getting settled, we made this our first stop...mistake! It is true, it's directly across the street and their beer is cheap and not too bad. BUT...we were given counerfeit euros as our change. We discovered this when the guy at our second stop advised us that our euros we were trying to pay with were fake and that the person who gave us this knew what they were doing.

Thank you for your time reviewing your recent stay in Barcelona. I appreciate very much your lovely words regarding hotel facilities & staff.

However, I am very dissapointed with our neighbor "tapas" bar called 100 Montadito's behaviour. I am going to contact the Manager to let him know about this an avoid it for ever.

Once again, thank you for your lovely review which will be very helpful for future visitors. Kind regards, Ignacio Casellas

Absolutely no downsides whatsoever at this friendly, spotless and well run hotel. If all the superior rooms (with terrace) are like ours then they represent extremely good value. Particularly enjoyed the shower/wet room! Good breakfast offering. Within walking distance (if you're fit!) of town centre and within 10/15 mins walk of 3 Metro stations. The owner, Ignacio, is very much hands-on and always ready with helpful advice.

My friend and I (Two girls) stayed at this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights and absolutely loved it. Its about $27 Euros from the airport and it was in a great location. We were able to walk all of Barcelona from this hotel and didn't use the metro once. It is very close to main avenues (Diagonal and Gracia) you can stroll up and down those avenues, grab a map, and see all of Barcelona. There are great restaurants near by and the nightlife by the hotel is AWESOME! The rooms, wifi, staff, and front desk personnel were all great. Very clean, very modern, totally loved it. Definitely will stay at this hotel again. You will love it!

We have just returned from a 3 night short barcelona break staying at the Condado hotel. We didn't spend much time in the hotel itself as there is just so much to see and do in Barcelona. However, the hotel is very nice! Very clean, comfortable, quiet and friendly. I also particularly liked that the room had a safe to use free of charge. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Diagonal metro station in a nice area and about a 25 minute walk to La Ramblas. Once you are on the metro you can get to anywhere you want to within 5-20 minutes depending on how far you are going. The metro is very efficient and you'll never be stood on a platform for more than 5 mins. The metro is also very reasonable, we paid €20 each for 3 days unlimited travel. Barcelona itself is an amazing city with so much to do. 3 days just wasn't enough and we must have walked miles and miles. I would particularly recommend doing a bus tour to see the city and give your feet a break- it is also good for highlighting areas of the city you'd like to explore further (you can hop on and hop off as many times as you like). I would also recommend going up mount tibidabo as the views of barcelona are stunning. March was a great time to go, lovely 23 degree sunshine but not too hot- I imagine in the summer it would be stifling to walk in. Another reason for visiting barcelona was to go to see FC Barcelona play at the nou camp. Hotel condado is ideally situated only 3 or so metro stops from Diagonal. I would definitely recommend staying at the condado, excellent value and a good location just outside the main city centre.

Fairly central location. One of the best nights of sleep I have had at any hotel. Rooms are an OK seize. Free wi-fi and free water is a big plus. The service from the reception was excellent. The Breakfast buffet was OK, nothing impressive, but what you would expect was there. Gracia metro station is 5-10 min walk from the hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room towards the street, since the other rooms have very limited view.

Nice and friendly staff, good price, big room. The location is good as it has everything you need. Special attention to Enric Granados street, close to the hotel, where you can find plenty of good restaurants. Everything perfect for a short business trip in the city.

I love the little neighborhood of Gracia. At first glance it looks pretty sleepy, but it's only a short walk to great tapas bars, wonderful boutiques, and green spaces. The hotel is a very short walk to Diagonal and its metro station. Along the way, we found great cafés and shops--taking different routes each time. My husband and I stayed here for week at the end of July 2013.

I'm a little baffled by the negative reviews....I'm very particular. Before I book a new hotel, I cross reference 3-4 sites and look at the traveler photographs. I was thrilled to find that this hotel was exactly as it was represented online via the "professional" photos.

The manager and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Ariel, and frankly everyone working there, (all shifts) were friendly, attentive, kind and delightful. The hotel has a lovely charm to it. The rooms were tasteful with a nod to the modern and the bathroom was large. The room & bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable--room was not huge, but it was adequate. I've stayed at Starwood Alliance Hotels for a lot more money and with smaller or similar sized rooms. (We were initially given a smaller room, asked to switch, and without complaint or fuss, the management accommodated us.)

We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and have recommended it to friends and family.
