I booked two rooms at this hotel online received two emails to confirm my bookings.
Despite this when i arrived at 11pm with my elderly mother, I was told there was no booking, the hotel was full and could i please move aside so the desk clerk could serve someone else.
When i tried to explain that I had reserved the booking with a credit card and that I need to use their internet to print off evidence they said i had to PAY to use their internet.
After struggling to get faulty keyboard and broken printer to work for over an hour in the internet room, the manager finally agreed to talk to me. This was one hour since we arrived and my mother was very distressed by this point. All the desk staff were surly and dismissive. When they realised the mistake they improved slightly. I suggest you double check any bookings you make with this hotel and prepare for poor customer service.

We read the reviews and thought this would be a convenient hotel to stay at since it was situated on top of the main station. When we arrived, the hotel exterior looked nice and new. Even the lobby was expansive when we entered. However, when we saw our rooms, it was old and appeared like it hadn't been kept up for many years. The biggest problem was that their air conditioner doesn't really work well (more like an ineffective fan) so the rooms felt like an oven. They basically hadn't invested in the upkeep of the hotel rooms. I would not recommend staying here.

We splurged our last night in Spain to stay at this hotel, after staying at hostals and cheaper hotels for the rest of our stay, so my review will definitely be influenced by that. I can't compare with other hotels at the same price.

It was a God send for us because we arrived by plane from Madrid in the early evening and were flying out the next morning, so its location right at the train station was so perfect for us. Easy access to the metro to get anywhere, as well, not sure about walking distances since we didn't walk.

The room, especially the bathroom, was big, compared to what we had stayed in before. Comparing to other hotels I've stayed at I'd say that it was still bigger than average. Huge tub. We didn't get the chance to try out any of the services (room service, gym, etc.). The internet however, was way over-priced at 3Euros for 1/2 hour.

Would definitely recommend this place if you are doing a lot of traveling in and out of the city. Not recommended if you want to be in the heart of the action.

If you travel in or out of Barcelona by train, no hotel is more handy! It is situated directly above the train station and entry to the hotel is via a lift (elevator) situated inside the station, (on north side of station ground level), but it's not as easy to find as it could be. The rooms have ADSL. Whilst they claim the rooms are "soundproof", they are not; however, they are quiet. Lots of road works going on (6/07), but tour buses stop across the street and it's easy to get to main part of town if you have a map. Beds are not as cofortable as they could be. We "fixed" that by putting blankets under the sheet and then we were fine. Bathroom is large and bright enough to do makeup. Did not try inhouse restaurant, but lots of others did. They also have a car park in case you need it.
