The location was perfect to see the best parts of Barcelona, prices were very reasonable for the services and the service was left us with nothing wanting. Overall the stay was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and we felt very comfortable there.

A colourful airy hotel and a good location close to the waterfront in the Gothic area. There are numerous good eateries close by. Sensi across the road is a busy tapas bar. It's not cheap, but we had a tasty meal and the service was good. We had a yummy bagel for lunch one day from Sweet Dreams, just around the corner, and there are a number of supermarkets close by to get a bottle of Rioja or two. We didn't eat breakfast here, but found plenty of choice locally.

The staff at the hotel were courteous and friendly, the room was small but with everything one could need including free wifi and safe (no tea and coffee making facilities - we always bring our own). The beds were comfy enough, but our double was actually two twins pushed together. The shower is good and powerful and the bathroom looked newly renovated.

It was a bit noisy from other guests, particularly if they were having a shower. And the streets are a bit noisy late at night. We got a taxi from the airport as we arrived mid evening and I'm glad we did because it might have been hard to locate it at night. The cost was 33 euros.

Overall I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

What a wonderful 4 day trip we have spent here! First of all the location is perfect, the hotel is situated on a narrow street with lots of little bars and restaurants, the marina is less than a 5 minute walk away, la rambla is just around the corner and the beach is about a 10 minute walk with stops for the tourist sightseeing busses close by. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the maids do a fantastic job. The rooms are a little on the small side but we were out and about most of the time anyway so it was perfect for us. The bathroom was a decent size with a big waterfall shower which was lovely. If we were to come back I'm not sure if we would pay for breakfast again but only because there are so many cafés and restaurants close by. It was a decent selection of pastries, fruits, yoghurts, cheeses and cold meats, cereals, breads and a few hot foods including Spanish tortilla which was gorgeous. If you're looking for a full English every morning then you might be better getting breakfast elsewhere.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor and there was absolutely no noise from the bars and restaurants on the st...

This is very good hotel and in a great location as you can walk out of the door and be in the alleyways of the old town in an instant, turn to your right and you will be on La Rambla in a few minutes or cross over a couple of blocks in front of the hotel and you will be by the edge of the marina and a short walk from some excellent beaches.

The hotel is more functional than luxurious but has everything you need, the rooms were a decent size with comfortable beds and excellent pillows, the bathrooms were superb with a double size shower cubicle complete with both a rainfall shower and flexi hose shower, the flow rate on both was very good and always plenty of hot water available .

The rooms and the hotel in general was extremely clean and housekeeping did a fantastic job, toiletries replenished daily and the bedsheets must have been changed daily or certainly appeared to have been, the front desk staff were all extremely pleasant and very helpful and nothing's was too much trouble.

Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of the usual pastrie, cold cuts, cheeses and fruit but also bacon, eggs and mushrooms, the Spanish omelette was also a daily feature and this became a firm favourite and would certainly set you up for the day and was very good value at 10 euro for all you can eat including the wonderful freshly squeezed Orange juice.

There are plenty of other bars and restaurants on the doorstep and the prices of eating and drinking in Barcelona are so much cheaper than the UK and the food is also better quality, do try the lunchtime fixed price menu offered at all restaurants, usually around 11 euro for choice of starter, main course, dessert, along with glass of wine or beer and a basket of bread, a real bargain.

There are tapas bars and restaurants around the hotel but we had one of the worst meals during our stay in one of these and it was so bad I did not take a not of the name unfortunately.

Getting to the hotel from the airport to the hotel is very quick and easy using a taxi and will cost you thirty euro and well worth the money, I did book a taxi through the hotel for the journey back and the driver ripped me off for 43 so do check before you set foot in it. The price is clearly displayed in the meter including any surcharges and then he suddenly pushes a couples of buttons and the price leaps up considerably, 30 euro from the airport and 43 from the hotel to the airport is a blatant con.

Before you set off you will be reading plenty of info regarding Barcelona and all the horror stories regarding pick pockets and thieves but it is greatly exaggerated and we had no problems at all despite walking everywhere at all hours of the day, there are armed police everywhere and I have never ever seen so many on the streets so your safety is pretty much assured although isolated incidents can still occur.

Barcelona was great and I cannot wait to go back again.

My boyfriend and I were staying at Hisperia Barri Gotic for a couple of nights and were incredibly satisfied. You walk down La Rambla, the most crowded place ever, then you turn the corner and you're in a tiny peaceful street Ample where the hotel is. It is surrounded by cozy cafes and restaurants and a lot of interesting places are all near.
Well, we loved it. Thank you for a great stay !

I have become a regular user of the NH group of Hotels. I like the service the friendly staff and everything else they have to offer and the Hesperia Barri Gottic did not disappoint. Firstly though €29 from the airport in a taxi to the Hotel we checked in around 13:00hrs ish having a room with a balcony on the street I had read other reports on the noise from the street and mentioned this at check in the polite gentleman said if you don't like it we will move you. So ok yes there is a bit of noise of an evening so if you are a light sleeper it might bother you but not me. The hotel location is fantastic 5 mins from the sea come out of the hotel and turn right and its a a 7min stroll to la rambles. There are no tea and coffee making facilities available in the rooms however you have plenty of cafes, supermarkets in very close proximity to the hotel. The staff cannot do enough for you if we visit Barcelona again I would 100% stay here again. Thank you we had a great time.
