“Comfortable and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

Stayed here on business and used the conference suite every day. A three course meal was provided every day, but was a little hit or miss at times. They catered for my gluten-free needs in a truly fantastic way - they even had gluten-free croissants and pain au chocolat, unheard of! However, they were a little vague on what a vegan was (to the point of bringing out a piece of fish). The conference room itself, whilst large and comfortable was at times bordering on freezing - I little thought I would need to use a coat whilst in Barcelona - inside! However, this was corrected on asking, each time. The bar is large, comfortable, with very friendly staff and with a good selection of local wines. Breakfast was pretty much average - but the coffee could have been nicer. The bedroom was comfortable (with a truly heavenly bed), with separate desk and table and chair. The decor was very modern, but not intrusive. The bath/shower had plenty of hot water, and the heated towel rail was a very nice touch. The feather duvets/pillows have been treated to make them hypoallergenic. It is a taxi/metro ride out of the city centre, but in a very nice area with some good restaurants and shops close by. I would happily stay here again.

Very good Hotel, modern, excellent services. Hilton Diagonale is closed to the center of Barcelona. Rooms are very quiet, no noise from the other rooms or from the street 5diagonale is a very big one). You do not have to wait for the taxi. The room price is not that expensive compared to the quality. I do recommend this hotel.

20 mins or so from Barca airport, great transfers and nice location in the city although a non walkable distance into the main centre.
Metro and tour bus stops very close by so easily accessible into the centre.
Check in was fast, fully informative.
Room was lovely. Views not brilliant from 10th floor but the higher the floor I imagine the better the view.
We didn't dine in the hotel but bar staff were very friendly and attentive.
Breakfast unfortunately was not brilliant at all. Selection of fruits and continental options very limited. Selection of breads only two choices, pastries the same as you could buy in you local Sainsbury's store! Hot options boring and flavourless. For a highly standard hotel selection was very poor.
Access to the executive lounge was a lovely lovely extra. However canapés etc... That were served around 6pm/7pm again were very poor. Some in-edible. At 10pm we wanted to visit the floor to have a nice coffee and drink in peace after a long day sight seeing and everything was closed. No times were given to us about access. Was a really nice space to be able to relax but not so great if you can't get a drink! Disappointing for what seemed to be a very lovely extra.
Staff were all friendly but unfortunately too many little things that griped at us to return.

This hotel is an good choice, especially for business travelers wanting to stay in the University district. The decoriation is contemporary, rooms are comfortable and quiet. A word about the wifi connection: usually slow and difficult to connect in some areas. Breakfast has good choice and above average quality. This might also be a good choice for someone going to a soccer match in Camp Nou, as the stadium is more or less one km away.

Room Tip: Rooms in the upper floors have nice city views

Spent few days for the Mobile World Congress. The hotel is fine on hilton standards. Bathroom is elegant but shows some signs of aging. What is not acceptable is an incredibly slow and spotty WiFi service. This is mostly a business travelers kind of hotel and nowadays internet access is a must. I hope they will improve their service before next congress.

Magnificent decoration of the lobby and Vibe bar. Good breakfast, with interesting assortment of hot and cold items. Superior room, comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom. An excellent choice for your business trip to Barcelona. You will appreciate the excellent price-quality relation.

The Hilton Barcelona is a very nice hotel, located in the University district, with access to the Metro, on a modern area, in a main avenue, and a mile away from Camp Nou. Getting to Las Ramblas might take approximately 15-20 minutes in the metro (plus about 5 minutes walking to the station). This might not be the place if you are going for a cruise, as it is a little further away from the port, and the 'older' part of Barcelona (also, the taxis in Barcelona are small, and if there are four of you with luggage, chances are very good you will need two). But this is great for the business man, or a young couple with plenty of time to move around the city. Also, if you are a professional who can afford the hotel and has dreams of going to see FC Barcelona, this hotel will also be great for you!

It is not a huge hotel. Its lobby combines a bar, a restaurant, and the lobby area, in a tight space, however, the rooms are good size (its Europe) modern, clean and very comfortable. If I go back by myself or just with someone else, this will be my place to stay.
