“hold on to your hats - and your stomachs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

this seven minute ride across the marina/port is not for the light hearted - the ride up to the cable car is quite good and the sights on a clear day allow you to recognise major land marks and sights of the city - most visitors take the one way fare and travel on by foot to parc mon junc - others who wish to return to the port take the rtn fare as it svaes on time and money - take your camera and please please use it - we were so busy look at sights that we did not use it enough enjoy

“good views, perhaps a little expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

You get amazing views on the cable car across the port. Its a very short ride (about 5-6 minutes) and costs 10 euros one way or 15 eruros return.

I noticed on two different days that the berceloneta end had a regular waiting time of about 80 minutes because the car only takes about 15-20 people each trip. With this in mind, I decided to walk to the other side (about 30-40 mins walk along the port and up the hill to Parc del Mirador) and get the car back to barceloneta (this is also the best as it means you are in barceloneta at the end of the ride where there is more to do). There was only about a 10 miute wait there which was great. I'd recommend it for the view, but perhaps 10 euros is a little pricy for the journey.

“Skip it”

15 euro round trip or 10 euro one way
The quality of the photos that you can take within the cable car are going to be mediocre at best due to the windows never being cleaned and somewhat foggy. The views are nice, but you could take the metro to the top for much cheaper. We were trapped at the top due to strong winds and had to walk down. They also stop service mid-day for an hour or two for a siesta. You will get much better views for the city from the MNAC museum.

“Awesome views, but operation is poorly organized”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2011

My rating of 3 is an average... 5 star views, 1 star operation. Great views over Barcelona, but the operators are totally disorganized. It's not clear where you line up because the end is out of sight. Once you do, there is no indication of the wait time. Once you get to the ticket booth and buy your tickets, you'll find it's chaos between the booth and the elevator up. It's a melee of ticketholders, curious on lookers, people trying to learn more about the ride, and people who've just come off the ride and are trying to orientate themselves. There's no crowd control. Once you manage to get on the elevator, you'll find there is another queue at the top. If you happen to get on the elevator first, you'll find that everyone who got on after you are now ahead of you in the line. And, if that weren't enough, they don't count tickets until a half hour before they close. If the line at the top is a half hour, and the line at the bottom is forty minutes, then predictably there is going to be a number of people angry about queuing so long only to be told there is no more room today. And they've been operating the ride for years? It would be so simple to fix!!!
