Description: Facing the sea, Rangoli shares with its older brother - indian restaurant Bembì - the same concept of Indian food. Besides gathering all the virtues of his predecessor, Rangoli has a number of distinctive features: new and unique dishes, attractive decoration full of carefully chosen decorative pieces from India, a bar area where one can sip on a drink and, to top it all - a terrace with the Mediterranean view. Rangoli is the most ancient traditional decorative folk art of India and a symbol of religious and cultural beliefs. It is considered an important part of our spiritual tradition. Rangoli figures and patterns are colourful decorative designs on courtyards during Hindu festivals and is meant as a sacred welcoming area for the gods and guests. These ancient rituals have been passed on through the ages, from one generation to the next, thus keeping both the art form and the tradition alive. The purpose of rangolis is to bring good luck. We in Rangoli strive to present to you the culinary art of India which is as vibrant, traditional and colourful as a Rangoli and bring to you recipes which have transcended through generations. We welcome you to try the Rangoli experience!

“Surprise, surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

We went to Rangoli, an indian restaurant on the beach side. While walking in, i thought " this looks like it's going to be the usual bangladeshi-pakistan cuisine, not proper indian food"...u know how people say "appearances decieve", or "never judge a book by its cover"!
. One hour and 5 orders of aloo tikki later, i was pleasantly surprised. The food is out-of-the-world; it's authentic indian food that i would'nt mind eating back in india also. The aloo tikki is sumptuous, along with palak croquettes. The fish tikka is pretty good too. Good food, good ambience and friendly indian waiters all contribute to a wonderful atmosphere..... Rangoli aapke zaike main bahut rang hai..viva la rangoli

“Enjoyable visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

The food is pricey, the service was excellent all were very friendly. We arrived 30 mins before the usual opening time and they were quite happy for us just to sit inside the restaurant until they were ready.
Try mango lassi, very fresh. I'm sure that we will visit again. Curries/rice come in a bowl which can easily feed 2 people.

“A bit shambolic”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

The food is reasonable, if on the pricey side, and it is in a good location but this restaurant is badly let down by incompetent/rude staff. Service was surly from the start and I was given a chicken curry having ordered lamb. On pointing this out I was given a quick 'sorry' but nothing else. Not only was I not offered anything by way of compensation but service became even worse and they were clearly attempting to get us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. Our spoons were cleared away with no offer of desert and when we called a waiter over to request a desert menu were given our bill instead. Despite being served chicken, the bill still listed the more expensive lamb dish that I never received!

We have had poor service here in the past but came back because the food was ok and there are not that many curry options in Barcelona but service was beyond poor this time and we will not be returning again.

“Very lovely indian restauran”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Rangoli is a very comfortable and relaxed restaurant. We had the tasting menu and a bottle of wine plus som water and payed 75 €, very reasonable prised. The food was a bit spice, but very good and there was a lot of it! Nice nan, different sauces and lovely starters. We got a table imidiately without reservations.

“Excellent Food with a 5 star hospitality.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Rangoli is the best restaurant in terms of food and hospitality. The owner Mr Anand was a very warm and friendly person. Helped us in chosing the signature dishes which was to our palate. We ordered Ragda pattice and Lasuni Jhinga for starters which was absolutely perfect. For Main course we asked him n to his suggestion we ordered Zafrani chicken briyani and Malabari Prawns curry. The curry was just awesome. Never had this type of authentic curry even in India. The Zafrani Biryani too was par excellence. We were there to celebrate my husband Kamal's Birthday on May 10th and were very happy that we chose to come to Rangoli to dine which has a perfect ambience, located just across the Barcelona Beach. When he heard that we were there to celebrate his birthday we had a surprise waiting at the end of our meal, when he brought us a beautiful icecream cake with a candle for him to cut and celebrate his brithday, also took snaps for us. Will always remeber this kind gesture Mr Anand. Thank you for ur kind hospitality and making this occasion so special for us.
We also wish you could open a restaurant in London too for us to have some great food.
