“One of our favorite vegan meals in Barcelona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We tried most of the vegetarian/vegan places in Barcelona during our week-long stay and this was one of our favourites. A very small place with just a few seats, but the food was excellent. Especially the patatas bravas with their special sauce!! Will definitely be returning here on our next visit to Barcelona.

“delicious food, great value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

This is an all-vegan cafe in the Barri Gotic area (in Plaza George Orwell), and the food here is fairly simple - burger-style food with many different types of vegetable burgers, and vegan side-plates and desserts. I highly recommend the patatas-bravas, because they were absolutely delicious, and the burgers were also delicious.

I had two of the desserts (cakes) but I don't remember the flavours, and they were also good, so I recommend indulging if you didn't eat too many patatas bravas :) The cafe was also open on Sunday. It seems that most shops (think clothing like Mango, Zara) were closed on Sunday, but cafes/restaurants seem to be open.

“Disappointing Service and Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We went to this place in December 2012. A friend had visited the restaurant a few month prior and raved about it. Being a vegetarian, I was very excited to try this place. When we arrived the place was small with few seating options. Since we were the only ones there we had our choice of the seating. We reviewed the menu on the board behind the counter and looked at the food in the deli case. While making our choice another patron stopped in. He knew what he wanted so we let him go ahead. We then were ready to place our orders. The person I was with placed hers- a salad and the potatoes. I was then ready to place mine, but the girl went in the back to make some of the food. We stood there for a bit before she then explained that she does one order at at time. So I was then ready to place my order which was a seitan sandwich, potatoes and a cafe con "leche" as it was non dairy milk.

When the food is ready the preparer sets it on the counter and you grab it. My partner's came first the salad and the potatoes. The salad was supposed to have carrots, but they were not there and there was a hair in her salad. We both found the potatoes to be very greasy. My sandwich was good, but the rude server made the experience less than desirable. She also forgot my coffee, ad tried to charge me again for it. The coffee good.

I really liked the artwork and the vegan friendly political messages within the place. The worker was plying music, but we both felt she was playing it for herself and not the customers as it was very loud. With the place being so small it was not necessary. If you want good vegan food and service, try Juicy Jones located at Carrer de l'Hospital, 74 Barcelona as the servers were friendly and the food was amazing!

A fantastic filling meal from just having a burger and great value! Really well cooked food and good service. Definitely recommend this for a filling lunch for vegetarians.

“Excellent Vegan Food in the Heart of the City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

We love this place! It is an excellent place to pick up a burger or a sandwich to eat al fresco or take to the beach. There is limited seating inside and a few seats in the square outside.
There is a really impressive range of burgers and sandwich fillings to choose from as well as excellent value salad plates.
Gopal also has beautiful vegan cakes including doughnuts.
The staff are friendly despite the very busy and, at lunchtime and weekends, slightly frenetic pace.
You can find a lot of local information on yoga and meditation on the various flyers which would be excellent for those staying a little longer than the average holiday.
Fabulous, filling and excellent value for money.
