Description: Gut opened in the bohemian yet modern Gracia district in Barcelona. This originally-styled restaurant is decorated in white and pale colours throughout, with clean lines and Scandinavian design influences. The breakfast, lunch and afternoon menu offers predominantly Mediterranean cuisine as well as some international and vegetarian dishes, made with the finest ingredients and gluten free, all prepared in house. Especial didhes: small tofu burgurs with wasabi mayonaise, tuna with celery and pumkins pure or ox tataky with miso sauce. While the homemade desserts, such as chocolate and mascarpone cake, also deserve a special mention. The restaurant prides itself on its warm and intimate atmosphere, with great attention to details. Great cart available for celiacs.

“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012 via mobile

Went here tonight based on recommendations from Trip Advisor. Would HIGHLY recommend this place. Also would recommend a reservation. The place is small, chic and excellent. The sangria was delish. The prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of food served. The servers were some of the nicest we have encountered in Spain. All of our dishes were great. We had the gazpacho, Gyoza and pâté. All good. These were a little on the pricey side. But no major complaints. Our main dishes were the grilled calamari (excellent!), the fish of the day (excellent as well), ravioli (again exceptional) and the chicken curry (good flavor, delish). For dessert. We had the orange cake (very good, my first choice) and the chocolate pastel with marzipan (good. But my preference was the orange cake). Again. The sangria was well priced and very tasty. Highly recommend this place. Not typical Spanish food. So don't go expecting that. No tapas, etc. lots of vegetarian options of your into that as well.

“Wonderful alternative to typical Spanish meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012 via mobile

After several days of pizza, pasta, and pialla, we Happened on this place thanks to trip advisor.
I would echo what other reviewers have said about a reservation. We arrived a little before 9:00 and only two tables were occupied. We were told they were fully booked, however, they graciously set up a table near the kitchen. Within a half hour the place was hopping and full. They have marvelous starters, and great veggie choices. The stir fried veggies were amazing. I enjoyed the salad with fresh figs and tufu. They also have some non vegetarian options which seems to please. Desserts were made in the house and wonderful.definitely a keeper.

“What a find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012 via mobile

We found this place via tripadvisor after our Gaudi tour of the area. Wow, what a charming vibe from the candlelit decor to the warm and welcoming staff. We did not have a reservation but arrived on the early side-9pm on a Wed. I highly recommend making reservations as the restaurant filled up almost immediately.

The food was mostly mediterranean inspired with lots of vegetarian options.

We split a fried tofu salad to start. Nice combination of flavors including mint, pistachio, a variety of greens and a light shoyu dressing. Entrees we had were the Kerala curry chicken and the cod. Both were incredible. Our dessert choice was cheesecake topped with apricot jam. Totally delicious. Great wine selection at very reasonable prices.

Service was not rushed, not slow, but just right. The staff is kind and gracious.

I highly recommend this casual but elegant and beautifully designed restaurant.

Super food, great service and wonderful wine. We'll definitely be back to Gut! The waiters were knowledgeable and attentive. There were no free tables and the atmosphere was lively yet relaxed.
