“A most enjoyable stay in Barcelona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Stayed for 6 nights in September and would highly recommend.

The hotel is very centrally located in the Eixample (affluent area) of Barcelona. It is 3 blocks from the Metro and the hop on hop off tourist bus stop and one of the major shopping areas of the city, certainly walkable to most other areas. A mini supermarket and top quality restaurant are situated next door at street level which is most convenient.

Our room was tastefully decorated, quiet and comfortable with a well equipped en suite and despite the hustle and bustle of city door at our doorstep, provided an excellent night's sleep.

There is a service desk manned 24/7 and the staff always well informed and accommodating for all needs. We splurged on a cooking course which a staff member happily assisted us with organising.

A large deck area fully furnished with outdoor settings is available for guest use as is tea and coffee making facilities. In fact there is also glasses, plates and dishes and cutlery should you wish to bring food and refreshments to enjoy on site.

We would not hesitate to stay again should we find ourselves in this wonderful city.

Special thanks to Freddy, a great asset to this establishment.

Room Tip: Book ahead as this little gem books out quickly.

First time ever we stayed in a hostal, my son made the booking and said the location is great, the reviews are good, the price reasonable and the design is nice! So there we go....
What a nice place to stay in the Eixample area. This is a place to recommend. Our room was very nice, but not to big for 3 persons. Furthermore there is a huge roof terrace with very nice garden furnitures. The staff is very kind, helpful and service minded. Eduardo who was working in the nightshift, is a really great guy. He gave us great tips and good service. It was possible to order sushi, because Eduardo is a sushi master. We will go back here. The place is really good value for money. Good beds, free wifi.

Nice little restaurant downstairs for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Next door is a little supermarket!
Great location.

This hostal is a real hidden gem. It's not really a hostal in any sense of meaning though. It's a bit difficult to find. Watch for a sign from the wall saying Hostal Khronos and ring the bell on the wall of the old apartment building. Its on the first floor and rooms are exquisite and beautiful. We had a room with balcony (90 eur per night for 2 people), nice, delicate, with huge bathroom and terrace outside (between the two old buildings is perfect for a quite drink (they encourage you to bring your own drinks even food!) We even had a little chocolate waiting for us on the bed when arrived and everything is spotlessly clean and feel very design and boutique. (and Spanish...high ceilings, kinda like running your imagination wild and seeing yourself living in the apartment in Barcelona ;) So all in all this was one of the nicest places I've ever seen. Close to everything central. Nice catch.

We stayed here for 4 nights, it's located on the first floor of the old style Spanish building. You feel like you live in an old apartment. The hosts were very nice and helpful. The room is nice with high ceiling and a small balcony. However, the walls are very thin and we had trouble to get good sleep. We kept woken up by other guests late at night. We love the little chocolate they placed on the bed sheet everyday after they cleaned our room. Very nice gesture.

From check in to check out this place was exceptional. We were afforded an early check in due to availability and the staff were obliging in every way. The rooms were modern, minimalistic and clean. The location was close to many major attractions, and the outdoor terrace was perfect for a late afternoon quiet drink / read. I would definitely stay again.

When you think of a hostal you picture a old spanish style guest house, with shared bathroom, sometimes shared rooms.....Forget it all. This place will blow your mind!! A completely renewed flat with very comfortable facilities from bed to bathroom, also common spaces and an amazing outside green patio overlooking a main street. ëxcellent for spending afternoons or eveningswith a bottle of spanish wine!
The service is passionately efficient, and tourisc knowledgeable, every question was answered with every detail of the city!!
we had breakfast too one day, and were amazed by the freshness of the fruits, cakes, and scrumbled eggs!
We will definetely stay here again when we come back to Barcelona!
We still have to come back to try their sushi which we didn´t have time enough, but heard great things about it!

My family - 6 of us stayed at Hostal Khronos twice this May 2012 as part of our Cruise vacation. The place was perfect. Rooms had high ceiling, private bathroom per room with towles, bath mats, bath gel amenities and a hairdryer. Some rooms had a nice little balcony overlooking the street. Beds were nice and firm. Lots of little stores nearby to shop for grocery, gelato, coffee. Very clean and decent, no frills like a 5 star hotel, BUT VERY tastefully done. The place had good "energy". Perfect location, not too busy a street and very touristy. Quite accessible to Passeig de Gracia and its shops plus also close to the hop on hop off tourist bus for the city. Wonderful cafe below the building that served lovely jamon with croissant and coffee for breakfast and a super yummy cream puff.
Alex, Carlos, and Eduardo....you guys made us feel so at home. From beggining to end, your service to us was superb. We love you! Oh... and from the bottom of my heart....thanks for the birthday surprise cake and champagne! I already recommended you guys to a friend for his October trip. Given a chance to go to Barcelona again....no doubt...hostal khronos it will be!

Room Tip: All rooms are great. Try to avoid room 9 as it has a small window only.
