“Tourists not welcome?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

I came here on the recommendation of a local. It was still quite early in the evening and only a few people were sitting by the bar. I wanted to have a few tapas at the bar but was told the whole place was reserved. It occurred to me that they decided that when they noticed that I am a tourist. There were some reserved signs on tables but standing by the bar should have been doable. It's a shame because what I saw other people eating looked truly delicious.

“Small hidden place with Barcelonas best Tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

Are you a tourist, looking for a good restaurant where locals eat their food? This is the place. Not the best tables and chairs for a hurting back, but definetly worth it for the food. When the first dish is served, you will understand that this is a culinary taste experience. PS: You need to make a reservation before you go there :) We called Bar del Pla only a few hours before we went, and that was not any problem, but this was on a regulary Tuesday. Keep that in mine :)

“Great restaurant, great atmosphere, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Recommended by a local shop owner, we had dinner here with our 2 kids. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great. We appreciated all the staff being able to speak English as this was our first day in Spain. They were also very helpful in choosing from their diverse menu. Excellent experience, thanks.

“Fun restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

This restaurant was recommended by the manager of the apartment we were staying in and it didn't disappoint. Like many places in the El Born area it is a very small restaurant and was full of people when we got there. Despite this, they quickly found us a table and we were soon sat down sharing a bottle of wine and enjoying the atmosphere.
We really liked all of the tapas dishes we tried, although some of them were completely different to the ones we ordered!

“Great food, good service, buzzy atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014 via mobile

One of the best tapas dishes ever - crispy beef with foie gras, we went back a week later and it was every bit as good. Great patatas bravas and the Gorgonzola croquettes are also amazingly good. We didn't try the angry snails or the octopus bombs but will go back for sure.
