we stayed at hotel arts for 7 days. the staff at the front desk was friendly and courteous. We were taken care of by Mark, who i have to mention by name due to his exceptional PR skills. Room was ok had views of the ocean and the old city. Some noise pollution with police/ambulance sirens at night. Housekeeping was excellent. Got wake up service and was very prompt. Now for the pool, it was astonishing that a hotel of its class wouldnt have a heated pool. We tried to get in the pool twice, the water was ice cold. I love to swim and it was a huge disappointment!
We ate at bar marina, loved the experience the waiters really took care of us. The food was great, the atmosphere, sunny day overlooking the marina...couldnt ask for anything better. watch out for the cocktails $$ 21 for a margarita! caparenna is also very good!

Bites, staff was really obnoxious. The salad i ordered was not fresh. Very bad service. Would not recommend this restaurant

Bar was expensive...bottle of corona $10
we frequented the barnebieri, which is a local restaurant/bar across the street, they had bottled hogaardens for $3...a steal !

Can Majo: exceptional paellas! Have to try their catalan cream (their version of creme brulee)
Gavani in port veil : Great food went there twice, nice view of the marina. Try their fish with garlic vinegar exceptional. Also their paellas are good! Great catalan cream.
Couldnt get into Cal Pep so tried the next door tapas bar called
longa de tapas: try their green salad delicious! deep fried shrimp, beef with foie gra, potato meat balls...
Comerc 24: Hated the experience! we got the 6 course festival menu! it was ultimate tortured with horrible food...i stopped eating after the 3rd course as I wouldve hurled...the only thing i liked there was the recreated egg...everything else was disgusting! service great .
Navarro on the rambla: forget the tapas go for the steak which are done very well.

Highly recommend montserrat trip through Hotel arts byJUlia travels our guide was JORDI highly highly recommend him... we had a group of 11 on a charter bus...the views to the mountain are amazing... $53 per person... the only problem was that the 1st day they cancelled the trip as only 6 people were registered...they need a minimum of 8...make sure you have ample days left in case of a cancellation when booking your trip

The other site seeing tip: make sure to book with barcelona city tour not barcelona touristica... for hop on hop off as the barcelona tours aka barcelona city tours is not jam packed like the other one....and both tours go to the same places...
Highly recommend: Sagrada familia, Park Guell, Placa Catalunya, MNAC
Shopping on the la pededrera i think thats what it was called and avenue diagonal

There is not much I can add that previous reviewers haven't already touched-on - this is a great hotel, much like the rest of the hotels in the Ritz Carlton family. I can perhaps add value in two areas: the location and traveling with children. Regarding location, I was a little nervous about it given other reviewer's comments, but I actually really enjoyed the location. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from most of the neighborhoods you will want to visit downtown, but it's a very pleasant walk, and you can take your time and do it along the beach boardwalk. We only took a taxi twice in the 4 days we spent in Barcelona. Second, we took advantage of an online special and booked a room on the club level. This was a GREAT way to travel with kids because it gave us another living space to use, as well as a constant stream of food on which our 2-year old could snack. The concierge service on the club level was excellent and they did an excellent job of making our children feel welcome. I would also mention the hotel has great outdoor space near the pool.

My husband and I just returned from a five-day stay at Hotel Arts. I was very impressed with decor, size of rooms, and location!

Not so happy with hotel concerige; On one occasion, they sold us two tickets to the soccer game with different seating! They also highly recommend for us to drive up to a few towns north of Barcelona that had very little to see and do, and were not in good, safe areas!! We also asked about wineries and were told they were all closed when a few of them were actually open during holidays!! House keeping was not great either but everything else was good.

The Spa is excellent - tight quarters but really good services. The restaurants on site also very good. The gym is fine and pool area is amazing with views to the sea.

I would go back but not rely on hotel concerige and assume my room will not be fully cleaned every day.

We stayed during the extended Easter holiday. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Rooms - Deluxe room with side views of the city and the sea. The room was spacious for 4 people (2 children) and clean. The bathroom was large with separate areas for the shower and toilet. The bathroom also had a large tub.

Dining - we only ate at the Cafe Veranda for their breakfast buffet. They had extensive choices of cereals, fruit, bakery products, and hot food. Overall, the food was okay especially given the high price of the buffet (32 Euros for adults and 16 Euros for chiildren).

Room service - Excellent room service. They were very attentive and prompt to our requests. They make 2 rounds daily (morning and evening for turn-down service).

Staff - The staff was helpful and attentive. Almost everyone called us by our name (Mr./Mrs.) and they made sure that we didn't have to wait on long lines. The concierge staff was helpful in making restaurant recommendations and setting up last-minute trips.

Location - This was the only negative part of the trip. This was our first trip to Barcelona so we wanted to see the sights. However, the hotel is located far away from the sites of Barcelona. For example, the hotel is about 1 mile away (20 min walk) to the aquarium. Barri Gottic (the old part of Barcelona) is at least 1.5 miles away. We found ourselves walking a lot or taking a taxi. However, if you go during the summer time, the beaches are just outside the hotel so that's a plus.

The hotel is located in Port Olimpic. There are many bars and restuarants in the area. We only tried Gino's - across the street from the hotel. My daughter got food poisoning from eating there. Be warned!

Overall, we would highly recommend Hotel Arts for its service, spacious rooms, and cleaniness.

I stayed for four nights over Easter with husband and 15 year old daughter. We had a room on Club Level which I would highly recommend. Included you have 5 different foods on offer during the day. From 7am - 11.30am there is breakfast, which is cold meats, salmon and omlettes cooked to order, as well as the normal cereals and fruit, then there's salads and cold meats for lunch, cakes and biscuits during the afternoon, cold meats and salads again early evening, and then cakes and biscuits later in the evening. All day you have access to soft and alcoholic drinks including champagne. The food is more than sufficient to keep you going if you didn't want to eat out at restaurants. There is also free wifi in the Club Lounge, as otherwise it's 25 euros for 24 hours.

The room was large with two double beds and decent size bathroom. Everything was immaculate and housekeeping staff very friendly.

All the hotel staff are extremely effecient and helpful, and the hotel is in an ideal position for the port, with it's large choice of restaurants, and about a 30 min walk to Las Ramblas.

When we go to Barcelona again, we would definitely stay here again.
