Owner description: Casa Mila, popularly known as La Pedrera, is a most unusual building, constructed between 1906 and 1912 by the architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) and declared UNESCO World Heritage in 1984. Today it is the headquarters of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera and houses a cultural centre that is a reference point in Barcelona for the range of activities it organises and the different spaces for exhibitions and other public uses it contains. A visit to La Pedrera, landmark building and container, gives us a better understanding and appreciation of architecture and transports us to the period when Antoni Gaudí lived.

This is certainly a "must see" attraction. Gaudi was extremely creative and ahead of him time to have designed this house. Enjoyed the visit very much. You can book tours that have pre-paid entry tickets, so that you don't have to stand in long lines.

“Not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Fascinating insight I to the life style of a bygone era. Gaudi must have been smoking some heavy stuff to come up with his ideas, which are sheer genius. A not-to-be-missed stop.

“La Pedrera - June 2013”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

I loved La Pedrera!
At first we thought the price (16.50euros) might be a bit steep for only being able to see the roof, the attic and the first floor apartment, but actually it was all very interesting and we were there for quite a long time.
The queue wasn't as bad as I thought it would be to get in. We arrived at about 10.30am and only had to wait about a minute to go in. We did buy an audioguide in English to help us round. We opted for the shorter 40minute one which was enough for us, but you could have opted for a 75minute tour. These cost 4euros each and were very interesting.
The roof was by far my favourite part! It is spectacular! Not only do you get brilliant views across the city, the chimneys are amazing works of art with plenty of curves and arches and inviting twists and turns. Great photo opportunities!!
After the roof, the exhibit in the attic tells you a bit more about Antoni Gaudi and his work. It covered information about Parc Guell, Casa Battlo and Sagrada Familia church so we didn't feel like we missed out too much when we didn't have the time to view these other Gaudi sites.
The first floor apartment was laid out as it would have looked when it was first built. Some of the period furniture was beautiful.
Finally you are herded out through the shop (where we bought some decently priced postcards).
Overall I very much enjoyed this attraction. Heading up to the roof certainly has the wow factor and we spent most of our time up there admiring the views and Gaudi's architectural style. Not having visited any of the other Gaudi attractions in Barcelona I can't compare, but for me, La Pedrera is definitely worth a visit. I only wish we could have gone back for one of the night time visits....

“A Must See!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Worth the wait in line (about 30 minutes in late May). Visiting the roof top justifies the price of admission. The views and functionality of the roof is spectacular. Really liked tis place.

“Take the night tour - The Secret Pedrera”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

We took the night time guided tour and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a cosy group (a maximum of 30 persons on the tour), and we basically had the entire La Pedrera to ourselves. Our guide Jordi was very good, and he shared many interesting stories.

The tour started at 8.15pm, and we managed to get a bite at a tapas bar opposite La Pedrera before the tour. Sorry I cannot remember the name of the bar now, but it was pretty good. With your back facing La Pedrera, just cross the road and the bar is on the left.
