Owner description: The Museu Picasso in Barcelona is a key reference for understanding the formative years of Pablo Picasso. The genius of the young artist is revealed through the 4,251 works that make up the permanent collection. Furthermore, the Museu Picasso, opened in 1963, also reveals his deep relationship with Barcelona: an intimate, solid relationship that was shaped in his adolescence and youth, and continued until his death. The Museum is very rich in regard to work from the formative years in the life of the artist; it is practically exhaustive up to the Blue Period. The Museum also houses an important representation of works from 1917, and the series Las Meninas (1957) as well as a comprehensive print collection.

“Extensive collection showing the artists development”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2015 NEW

Spent a memorable day at the Picasso Museum in Barcelona. It is situated in the old town in a restored villa. The collection is extensive and shows the artists development from childhood till his death. Excellent and well worth a visit.

“Great art by Picasso and Dali!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2015 NEW

Spent a good 2-3 hours admiring the masterpieces of Picasso in this museum. Also paid to see the temporary exhibition of Salvador Dali - which was worth it. Audio guide helped to understand the details - fascinating to see the intent behind the art and see the works of Picasso from his pre-cubism era. Seeing how the work of Dali was influenced by Picasso was fascinating as well.

“Free for students”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2015 NEW

A beautiful museum in three mansion townhomes joined together, with a nice collection of Picasso paintings laid out in a spacious easy-to-follow plan. The best part was completely free admission (you still need to wait on line) with a student ID.

“A wonderful collection of the master's works.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2015 NEW

This is one of my favorite destinations in Barcelona, offering an expansive collection of Picasso's works, from his earliest drawings and paintings as a teen. Our visit was enhanced immeasurably by retaining the services of a local guide for the day, Christina Belenguer, whose in-depth knowledge of the painter's life, and body of work added much to the experience. We booked her through a local agency - Hi. This is Barcelona.
