“Authentic Spanish food at small prices in a family atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

By coincidence, we discovered this lovely place in El Raval, in a little side street. It advertised with Empanadas for only 1.30€, so we just had to stop and try them. They had lots of different flavours and everything we tried was very delicious. We took a flyer of the restaurant and saw that they have menus (appetizer, main course, dessert, bread, drink, coffee) for only 8-10€. So, we came back the next day and tried their Paella menu which was delicious as well.
The restaurant is a very small with a cosy atmosphere so do not expect a fancy place.

“Basic but good value and convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

For less than 10 euros a head, you can pull up in this odd little place and be fed by a jolly big man who prepares all the food himself, including some rather delicious desserts.
Two of us stuffed ourselves, drank a bottle of Rioja, were treated to apricot digestives and some entertaining very broken English banter and dined with locals only. For a total of 21.50 Euros, I was a happy lass and can definitely recommend it also for a late night pizza fix.

“Good food with great local color”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

If you're willing to overcome the appearances of this place, it's a fun place to go for an inexpensive but flavorful meal. The atmosphere is plain, to say the least, but that's when it becomes entertaining. We stumbled upon it when we couldn't find another restaurant, but we ended up having a great time enjoying the simple food. We showed up around two o'clock and the place was empty, but by the time three rolled around, it was packed with locals. We had mussels and several different empanadas and were really pleased with all our selections. For a quick afternoon bite, this is one of our favorites and we're sure to go back again.

“Uruguayan corner, very unpretentious, and economic but authentic delicious food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2010

This is a very small restaurant seating 30 people, with typical dishes from the Uruguayan cuisine: meats, pasta, pizzas, vegetables, lasagna, fried veal scallops ("milanesa"), sweets ("alfajor con dulce de leche"). Run by Mario the owner who will cheerfully sing out loud the offers of the day. Very advisable for a no-frills, budget delicious meal!
