“Annoyed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

To be fair we were told by the waiter before we sat down that it would cost 15% more to eat outside, something we haven't come across anywhere else in southern Europe! We were not told the bread we had not ordered but which was put on our table first would cost us nearly 6 euros! The service was glum, the food was OK and one dish was not what we ordered but which the waiter changed after checking his record. We felt we were ripped off.

“Good food, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We came to Celler de Tapas recommended by our hotel, they gave us a free glass of wine as a welcoming. There was a special offer of 8 tapas for 18 euros, although a good option we decided to order separately to have more variety. We got the paella tapa, prosciutto, octopus, salmon, squid and sundried tomato, all came fast and tasted very good. The sangria was also a good addition to our meal, total we paid around 70 euros for 2 people. The location is excellent right off La Rambla.

“Where are these bad reviews coming from”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

We had dinner here on the recommendation of our hotel. Both the outdoor and indoor eating areas were quite full and had a great atmosphere. Our food (seafood paella, a chicken dish and squid) was served promptly, hot and fresh. All of it was very tasty, as was the sangria. I've visited barcelona a number of times and eaten at various restaurants in the area. This was by far the best.

“Awful, and I told them!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

We visited this restaurant at 11.20pm, and shown to a table, the food in fairness was not too bad, but as we were eating the waitress was hovering over our table to take our plates away asap! we did not know that they closed at 11.45pm, if we had been informed of this we would have chosen to go else where!, more drinks were refused as they wanted to go home, I tried to explain to the waitress that she should have told us that we had 15 minutes to eat and she was very rude. I certainly would not go back again.

“OK, but nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Went here for tapas on our way out for the evening. It was a bit early for most people, obviously, as the place was fairly empty save for a couple of other people. We ordered a selection of tapas dishes, which came with free garlic potatoes and charged-for bread that we didn't ask for, but ate anyway. Unlike other tapas places we visited, the dishes were brought out as a when they were ready rather than in one go. There would probably be better value places than this to go to, but this was conveniently placed (for us) between our hotel and the Universitat Metro station.
