After hours of walking around in Barcelona, I made the huge mistake to stop at the Moka "restaurant" with my parents in the popular and dynamic Ramblas neighbourhood, to have some lunch.
From the menu with pictures standing outside this place, I should have guessed that there was nothing great to expect, but reality was even worse than it!
First the personnel is absolutely not professional, pretty rude, not friendly at all, and for sure lazy! It's only after waiting for a few minutes in the pathway between the bar and the tables and deciding by ourselves to take a seat, that a "waiter" finally made the huge effort to bring us to our table (although a sign specified that we had to wait to be sitted...). Then, during the whole lunch, I had to repeatedly ask the waiters to obtain what I ordered (spicy oil for pizza...), and it was obvious that any request pissed them off.
The food itself was one of the worst I ever had in a restaurant. The so-called tortilla would have made ashame any Spanish person pround of his gastronomy: tasteless potatoes just glued together with a minimum of eggs. Surely an industrial preparation not even competing with what you would eat in a cantine!
My spaghetti bolognese let me speechless: tiny portion with a pale orange sauce in which I'm still wondering if there were tomatoes. For sure, there was no meat, no vegetables, so basically nothing to call it a Bolognese!
Only the likely industrial pizza was eatable.
In short, a place I very strongly recommend not to stop. Be it for budget reasons (for what we eat there, prices are not so affordable at the end), you should rather go to a fast-food where you'll likely be much more warmly welcomed, and properly treated!
