“Small portions for those prices”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

We ordered a calamari "tapa" that costed 5€ which had only 5 calamari...the food is average.
We filled up ourselves with bread cause we were hungry with such small portions. Too pricey as well.

“Gorgeous Atmosphere, food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

We arrived thinking it was closed because it was a quiet Tuesday but as soon as we stepped inside the atmosphere enveloped us in it's warmth. The lovely window seat and calm lighting, the red and grey colours and the lovely man that served us all bought together the most amazing experience we have ever had with Tapas. We ordered a bottle of Mas Donis red wine, which was recommended to us by the amazing waiter that served us. We started with the mind-boggling pear, parmesan and rocket salad, followed by the most amazing food experience in our lives - the honey aoili aubergine. This honey aoili aubergine tapa was out of this world!! TRY IT!!! We followed it with calamari (quid) which was delicious and then the waiters "love" potatoes, which as we discovered, the more you ate the more of it you wanted. Extremely moreish. After an hour of drinking and conversation we finished with a delightful brownie and another recommendation from the waiter of the creme mango delight!! Go here. You will be amazed. We loved it!

“Good restaurant, great food.”

Authentic food for local residents. Simple ans precise cousine. Very genuine attitude. I love to visit such a place, where there is no tourist english menu, but just a Spanish one.

“visit it only if you like slow food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2010

We have visited the restaurant el Higaldo just because it's located on the opposite site of hotel where we stayed.Just like other restaurants in Barcelona,it is open in the morning and in the evening.Higaldo is right next of el Puxtet metro exit.
We had a dinner of several courses (very small quantities) and after haven eaten we stayed almost hungry.I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to the fellow travellers, because it is more locals oriented.
The waitress is very symatic (originally from Peru, but like other locals, she didn't understand english and maybe this caused some misunderstanding by ordning the food and influenced the total sum...)
So, if you are very hungry, don't go there, unless you like/enjoy slow food movement.
Feedback is welcomed!!
