“fantastic hostel - certainly deserves the top ratings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Great hostel extremely clean and tidy, owners very friendly and helpful and really seem to care for their customers. Close to train station from the airport. I would certainly return and would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone. We are in our 50's (stayed in private room) and felt at home. Thank you very much

To start with, this was one of the most disastrous holidays I had ever been on. My boyfriends passport did not arrive in time, so he ended coming out 4 days later than me and his sister. When I did arrive in Barcelona his sister was ill for the first three days, then decided to go home on the fourth. The holiday was very stressful but the staff at BCG made everything better!

When I contacted BCG about my boyfriends passport they put his bed up for sale for the first few nights and refunded us for three of night he missed, which we were very grateful for considering we had only given them very short notice. They did the same when his sister left Barcelona refunding us for almost all the nights she wasn't there.

They also provided me with anti-sickness tablets, and diarrhoea tablets for my boyfriends sister. They helped arrange sorting out her health insurance card, they also offered to drive us to the hospital if she needed to go. One day I came in with terrible sun burn and Alessia came over with a bottle of cold water and started cooling my arms, which was just so sweet of her!

Aside from that, they introduce every new traveller with a map of the city, explaining pretty much everything you need to know, from recommended sites to cheapest travel. They explain where everything is in the the hostel, they also arrange a Paella night every Tuesday, where they take everyone to a look restaurant serving actual top quality paella, and a Flamenco night on Thursday. They also have a guide come in most mornings to collect people for a free walking tour. The facilities are brilliant, nice clean shower, spacious rooms, terrace, a communal kitchen, a lounge area that reminded me of being in my home, plus computers. The location is brilliant being walking distance from the city centre and a number of metro stations.

But even though many other hostels all have that, the truly unique thing this hostel has, is it's homely atmosphere. The staff were lovely, and often invited guests out with them, one night we even had a game of scrabble, they are always happy/bubbly and super-keen too help. It felt like everyone there was a friend not just an employee.

I wouldn't think twice about staying here a second time! Thanks so much for all your help Mirko & Alessia!

The reviews are true, this is a great hostel in Barcelona. The staff is pretty friendy, the rooms are basic (I stayed in a three bed room) but comfortable enough to spend a good night and rest. It's also well located and easy to get to and from the airport, even at night. Use the directions given by the hostel and you won't have any problems finding it.
I didn't use the kitchen facilities but it seemed to me that the kitchen was well equipped and you had coffee/tea available at all times.
Shared facilities are spotless, always clean!
The area near the hotel has many shops, restaurants, cafes and everything you need. It's also within walking distance to the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batló and the subway.
Staff was really nice and helpful, I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.

Room Tip: Pick a room that is not in the street side. It's a bit noisy as there's a bar/restaurant nex...

Fab, fab, FAB place to stay. Where do I start? First - sooo easy to find & very close to city centre. Second - great staff and sooooo welcoming. Thirdly - the pics don't do it justice! Finally the wifi access is great. Highlights: Lil upstairs balcony outside our room which opened up to fro
Our windows. A great common area terrace & the amenities are really well taken care of. No probs to share bathroom. We participated in a free tapas & sangria night which was great, fun way to chat to all the other guests. Bonus - for 7 euros they will wash & dry your laundry!!!

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the hostel for 4 nights. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The hostel was clean and had a little kitchen with fridge plus a nice veranda. Also, three computers and wifi.

The best way to get to and from the airport is to take the airport shuttle for 6 Euros and then walk 12 minutes to the hostel.

Friendly staff, good location, comfortable room, safe and affordable, what more can you ask for? I went there with my 5 month pregnant wife for a three day pre-cruise visit and we had a great stay. The private room had A/C and there were ample washrooms so neither of us had to wait. Staff was super friendly and were very eager to help. Not a mega hostel. Very safe and clean.
