Description: Monvinic has been founded with the aim of being an international benchmark for the dissemination of wine culture. A pioneering space, created by Sergi Ferrer-Salat, which has opened wide its doors to present an unrivalled selection of wines from all over the world. And, what's more, to explore the how and the why of each bottle. At a time when the number of wine enthusiasts, all keen to appreciate and to learn, is growing apace, Monvinic opens in the city of Barcelona to promote and to encourage this passion. And to do so in a way that is rigorous and respectful, yet at the same time providing an atmosphere that is natural, uninhibited, joyous and outgoing.

“A must do for wine lovers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

I was directed to this by another tour operator who asked the question, do you like wine. Well I do and this place is like dying and going to heaven.

35000 bottles, friendly knowledgable staff who look after you and are prepared to listen rather than lecture.

I was in my rough travelling gear yet still felt comfortable in a very swish location.

I thought I might push the boat out and asked for 4 half glasses of different white and red Spanish wines. Not only did I get what I asked for but also a very interesting conversation with the waiter, who provided an education in a bright and breezy manner.

With all this and the cost about €20 who could complain. Make this a must do

“Style over substance”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

Very disapointed with this bar after reading reviews. Should have taken note of the comment made by someone who pointed out that the tablets were actually not very user friendly. Had high hopes of tyrying different wines that I'd never heard of before but expected some guidance of where to start. The main thing that surprised me was that you start with a list of names and although you could click through and read about the region and producers, you couldn't find out that much about the wines you were looking at, not even a brief description like you'd expect toget on a bottle label. The final straw for us though was the indifferent service, one order that we placed was poured into one glass before explaining that there was not enough for 2 glasses. Even then it looked cloudy and tasted like vinegar, when we rejected it, they just shrugged, took it away and took forever to take an order for an alternative. I do agree that it is really stylish and very different from your average bar but didnt do it for me I'm afraid.

“Amazing wine, cool, chic atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013 via mobile

Went here for a pre-dinner glass of wine. Amazing selection, all on a tablet computer. Huge list. Wine was perfectly poured, stored and presented. Tasted great.

In addition, atmosphere is pretty special. Chic and cool.

Go there.

“Wonderful Wine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

The concierge at our hotel recommended this place to us, and what a great recommendation it was! Had some of the best wines we have ever had. Ran into some fellow people from the States, who told us that they come here whenever they can find an excuse to make it to Barcelona, as Monvinic is one of their favorite places in the world to find wines. I can see why, and apparently, many others around the globe agree! This place is a "must" when visiting Barcelona, no matter how much you like wine or are an expert -- they will find something great for you (or, if you are like us, multiple somethings)!

The service was excellent, and the whole establishment was very high-tech (even the bathrooms). Also, I was surprised that the wines were quite a bit more affordable than I had expected. And they were even kind enough to give me a free glass of cava for my birthday!

“High life wine bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

Got there on the recomendation of a friend, apparently it was shortlisted by Wall Street Journal among the Top5 wine bars in the world... and it's definately an extraordinary. first the set up and deco are outstanding, you feel like in an exclusive cocktail bar in Manhattan, then the service is very cool and yet very professional.
The wines: you can check the menu on an IPad, they have wines from all over the world, special reserves, you can taste most of them by the glass. I personally tried a New Zealand red wine, something I could never found in any other place!
Food: tapas with a modern touch, the menu changes constantly according to the market and the product the chef got that morning!
As to the price, yu need to expect a minimum of 60/80+€ per person (depends of the wine you'll choose), but it's more than worth it
