“Great experience!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

The hotel itself is really nice with very polite staff. I really liked the standard of the service provided whenever was needed. However, the location is rather quiet, especially in the evening - no pubs, clubs, shops or night entertainments, but you can take a taxi to the city that is just few minutes away. Furthermore, I was a bit scared to walk down from the metro station at 21:00, as there weren't any street lights on. Anyway, had a great time there and would recommended this hotel to my friends.

hotel was great! not too far from the city center too.. also had basement parking that was claimed to be the cheapest in the area at 15euros, breakfast was okay, nothing special but was included in the price so cannot complain! the metro was easily accessible and there is also a shopping mall nearby with a few bars and pubs. beach is also about 7-10mins walk.

Room Tip: rooms are lovely! well worth it!

My partner and I recently stayed at this hotel for 2 days prior to our cruise to the Canaries. We were pleasantly surprised by the location very close to the Metro and to the open top bus routes, and the harbour and beach area. We flew in before 10 am and went straight to the hotel to drop off our luggage before heading off on a tour of the city. The front desk staff were extremely helpful allowing us to put our bags in a store room until our room was ready for occupation later on gave us information on various things to do and we were also able to purchase our 2 day tickets for the tourist bus. We noticed that we could upgrade to a superior room for an extra 20 euros a night, this included mini bar with soft drinks, water and beers, tea and coffee !! there wasnt any milk in the room but this wasnt a problem we were given a jug of fresh milk when we mentioned it to the staff, and use of the gym. The room was very pleasantly decorated with lovely artwork, a beautiful bathroom and lots of mini toiletriesand bathrobes for our use. The upgrade gave us a room on the top (7th) floor with excellent views over the city !! This is not a large hotel which really suited our needs. There is a nice bar area which we used on both nights. Breakfast was continental but was adequate for what we needed and there was plenty of variety ! All in all we throughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and our first trip to Barcelona. We will definately be back and would be very happy to stay here again !!

Room Tip: rooms on the top floor include mini bar, bathrobes, tea & coffee making facilities use of the gy...

Arrived about 8pm and the reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. for the first time ever we got a free upgrade so we were on the seventh floor the room was amazing and we even had bath robes supplied along with all toiletries bit disappointed that there was no milk supplied with the coffee still I coped. We arrived the day before the strike so couldn't get into Barcelona as planned but went for a walk down to beach which is lovely. Must mention the snack bar as we enjoyed our evening drinks there

Room Tip: Seventh floor amazing views although part of the view is the cemetery

Situated outside of the city ( Approx 800 yrds from Llacuna Metro ). Hotel Barcelona is a very modern structure. The Views are great from the lower floors, you will only get superior view from the 7th Floor, which are the executive suites, however for the 20 euro per night per person, this could be worth it, as you get a bathrobe and tea and coffee making in the rooms as well as asea view.

Free Wifi in reception and also on every floor, is a major plus, breakfast can be quite expensive, 15 euros for the buffet breakfast although that said come out of the hotel and turn right, within 1/2 mile you will encounter restaurants galore situated on Rambla del Poblenou.

A few very very minor niggles with the room, Tea and Coffee making not included, which means you have to go out or brew up in the hotel ( cost 3 euros ) The shower head in our bathroom wouldnt stay in position, but you can hold it, and just one tiny tiny niggle the Air con is turned off in November ( Heating Only ), apart from that I would recommend Hotel 4 Barcelona

Location was ok, not difficult to find first time from metro. A short walk to the Beach, close to metro and City Tour bus. Transport time hotel - city center acceptable, also by foot. Newer hotel, interesting architecture. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast ok, and general service excellent ( both breakfast staff and especially reception) Recommended, Nice hotel in a splendid City!

Only stayed here one night and at a great price, would gladly stay here again. Very clean and modern hotel. The room was perfect and beds were comfortable. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to experience the spa but plan to do so if I return. Ordered room service and it was average, not the best thing I ate in Barcelona but not bad if you're staying in.
