“Have your lunch here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013 via mobile

Having eaten rather inexpensive lunch (comida en español) here maybe six times, we''ve never been disappointed.

If in the neighborhood, go here! If there are others before you waiting for a table to get free, and you're in a hurry, then MAYBE you ought to consider going somewhere else.

Maybe.

“Great authentic sushi and Japanese food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012 via mobile

I'm from San Francisco where we have some of the best Japanese restaurants in America, and Tokyo sushi is on par with them. I ate here recently and the food was excellent. They hand pull all their udon and ramen fresh, very rare for a restaurant to do this because it's so time consuming. Their curry is also excellent, very tasty and light, not heavy with cream and oil. Their fish in their sushi is very sweet and fresh. We had a great experience, and time while we were here and I highly recommend it. It's tucked away in a cave like ally way and gives the restaraunt a cozy intimate feel. I didn't buy all the other reviews giving it a cheap feel, you should either.

“Tried to charge us 6 EU for a half an avocado!! And food was bad.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2011

We ordered two business meals. My wife asked if they can add avocado to her salad. After going through three different waitresses, they have finally understood what we were asking. Eventually, they brought her salad with a half avocado sliced open.

But when we looked at the bill, we were surprised to see they charged us 6 Euros this extra half an avocado!!. We refused to pay this outrageous price and asked to see a menu stating this price for an avocado. Of course, they did not have such menu. When we asked why the price is so high, the waitress referred us to the manager who simply told us that this is the price. After much deliberations, they have agreed not to charge us.

When we went out of the restaurant, we crossed the street to the nearest market. We were interested to know if an Avocado is really that expensive in Barcelona. Guess how much one Avocado cost there? 0.5 Euros for 1 Avocado.

Bottom line - if you want a good place for tourist scammers and awful Japanese food, don't miss this place.

“Terrible and fake Japanese restaurant (by Chinese, I guess)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2009

Ordered a Unajyu (Grilled Eel Rice Bowl), the Eel was not grilled, but steamed (!), the water from the fish makes the whole bowl of rice becoming wet. It's like rice soak in water. And.... they are not using the proper sauce for the fish (supposed to use japanese tare sauce), it was awful.

Another dish was Katsu Curry (Pork Cutlet with Rice), no pork was used, it looks like ham was used as the meat is very very thin. All you can taste from the pork cutlet is oil, very strong oily smell. The curry is not Japanese style curry, but chinese style because different spice is used. For the rice, it's not Japanese rice, which is not as sticky as Japanese rice.
