“Excellent place for sea food at reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

Paradeta is a sea food self service, in which you choose your fish or sea food on display; you can also choose between a vegetable salad or a fish soup to go with it, your drink and bread.
Salad is at 4€; a pity that they do not propose rice or potato to go with your fish or sea food. They give you a table number, and they call you to go and pick your dishes when they are ready
We paid 31€ for ~700g / 2 steaks of excellent fresh tuna, 2 salads, bread and two drinks.
This restaurant is near the Sants train & metro station. We went twice and will go back next time we go to Barcelona

“Our favourite in Barcelona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

After a couple of years in Barcelona, this is still our favourite restaurant.
Select your sea food at the counter at the entrance, get some wine, take a seat and wait until the kitchen yells out your table number: Pick up the freshly prepared food and enjoy!
My recomendation: Try Chipirones and the Rape (a la brasa) add some gambas cocidos (served cold als a starter) and another 2-3 dishes, get a cheap white wine (eg El Turbio) and maybe a salad to share.
Enjoy!

“Best seafood in Barcelona!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Amazing food and really quick service! We were left feeling like we've just had the best lunch we've had in sooo long!

We initially went to the one in Born, but found a queue that stretched for what seemed like miles. Thankfully, during our visit to Sagrada Familia, we found yet another La Paradeta nearby. we were so thankful to have had a chance to dine there! Best calamari, crab, lobster and octopus we've ever tasted!

“Great seafood and ice cold beer !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

We visited this restaurant twice whilst staying in Barcelona. As the other reviews mention you select your fish and seafood and then collect it in stages from the hatch into the kitchen. As a rough guide each selection of fish/seafood came out as around 4 to 6 euro each (slightly higher for prawns). The prices per kg were comparable to UK supermarket prices so relatively cheap. I would recommend ordering 4-5 selections for 2 people which was plenty of food. Bread is 50c each and the beer was excellent value at 2.60 euros for a large glass which was ice cold since kept in a freezer. We had the salad and soup as starters which were ok but not great value compared to the rest of the menu (4 euros). I would skip these and order an extra dish instead !

You have some choice in deciding how the fish/seafood is cooked - generally plain or in a garlic/green sauce.

The only negative point is on the second trip the food had a slightly odd taste - similar to that if you use old oil. However this doesn't stop me highly recommending the restaurant for a different and great value meal.

“Atmospheric place to eat your heart out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Fresh sea food cooked to order, try a bit of everything and do not skip on the ice cold Estrella. The salad and bread are optional, though.
Be prepared to pay in cash, listen carefully to the numbers called in Spanish to go and fetch your order yourself :)
Sorry, there are no waiters there and no creadit cards are accepted.
