“Amazing experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

We adored our time at Mas Xipres. Hendrik and Hetty were fabulous hosts. The property is a work of art. It has been restored beautifully and every angle you look reveals something eye-catching. It's a joy to walk the property. We attended a small wedding ceremony there and the entire experience was unforgettable. The pool is wonderfully refreshing and perched amid a very scenic backdrop. Both meals served were excellent. Our suite was lovely. You can see that the owners spared no expense when designing and decorating all the rooms with high quality amenities and furniture. We only wish we had more than one night to enjoy all the surroundings. We were very sad to leave. Strongly recommend this special place!

We spent one night at Masia Mas Xipres on our last evening in Barcelona before our trip home. We wished that we could have had more time to spend there. Everything you have read from the other reviews is correct. Such a unique experience with the concept of a converted winery.

The owners Hendrik and Hetty are delightful. We ate our evening meal at Mas Xipres and it was exquisitely prepared by Hetty and delicious. We ate in the old wine celler which was a blast and after supper had drinks with Hendrik and Hetty and their daughter.

A great experience. This B&B is not in Barcelona but the trip to town is not bad as the roads are new and not congested. Pay close attention to the directions on how to get to Mas Xipres and don't trust your GPS!

We will come back to Mas Xipres when we return to Barcelona.

Room Tip: Don't trust your GPS as the location is remote. Use the website directions.

My husband and I visited Mas Xipres prior to taking a cruise out of Barcelona. All I can say is WOW! I travel for work so it takes a lot to really WOW me, but this place did. The rooms are rustic and quaint. The property is private and feels remote, yet close to many attractions. We opted to eat dinner at Mas Xipres and both my husband and I swear it was the best lamb either of us have had.

After a 3 day visit to a lovely Barcelona, we wanted to see more of catalunya. My girlfriend booked a room at Mas Xipres via internet. We rented a car at the airport and drove to Mas Xipres (takes about 40 minutes)
We where amazed by the romantic look of the Masia, the courtyard, the little chapel, and the pool.
Then we saw Hetty and Henny, who made us feel verry welcome to their Masia. First they showed us our room, and it was really nice. More than enough space, verry clean and verry nice decorated. There was a comfortable bed, a bath, a shower and a French balcony with an amazing view.
After that we were invited to come to the cellar to taste the good catalonian wine. Henny knows alot about wine!
From the moment we arrived we felt verry comfortable at the Masia. Every day we had a great breakfast. There is also an option to have dinner in de evening at the Masia. After we tried it the first day, we did it every day. Hetty is a verry good cook!
The area around the Masia is lovely. Lots of vineyards, bodega's, villages, mountains. You can visit the MontSerrat (which is verry nice), or coastvillages as Sitges. But if you don't know where to go you can always ask Henny, he knows alot of nice places.
For us it was a truly amazing experience and if we have the chance, we will definitely go back to Mas Xipres!

This is a fabulous place! A former Catalan Wine Cellar converted in a bed and breakfast with large rooms with en suite bathrooms, or just spectacular separate suits. Nature is stunning here in the Penedes, you can visit loads of bodegas, do tours, tastings, all very near. No need to book a restaurant either, the food is great. Home cooked meals and of course a lovely selection of local wines, unbelievable value for money! We highly recommend Mas Xipres, see another lovely side of Catalonia.

We have been staying at Mas Xipres three times know and we have always had a great time. The masia is resored with care for authenticity and the rooms and apartments have a personal touch. Henny and Hetty are great people who can make you feel really at home. Everything is right. The pool, the courtyard with shady trees for your siesta, the outdoor kitchen and BBQ for great evenings and of course the wonderfull food.
