“A very good hotel in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

The hotel is modern and has on-site parking. Our room was of a good size and faced the street. Despite being on the 3rd floor there was considerable traffic noise late into the night. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom of a good size. The breakfast was very nice with a good choices.

I found a good deal for this hotel online and although I knew it wasn't very close to the Raval/Bari Gotic area, I decided for the price we could afford some metro tickets instead. I think I made the right decision. The Ayre Hotel Rosellon has very friendly staff, extremely clean facilities and rooms, and a huge bathroom. The large walk-inshower had both a rain shower and a hand-held spray. We opted not to splurge on a room with a view of La Sagrada Familia and I think this was a good decision as well as the hotel has a great terrace on the top floor where you can get a great view of it (although during the day the bright sun makes it difficult to actually look at it properly). The downside to the hotel: it was rather noisy, our room facing the busy Rosello St. The noise didn't bother me much except one night when some very drunk men were yelling loudly. Otherwise the noise was no worse than what I experience nightly from my Vancouver home. The other downside was the bed - or should I say beds. The deal I got on the hotel was for a twin or double room. While I specified that I wanted a double bed, we got instead two twin beds pushed together. Not exactly ideal for a romantic getaway trip, but I suppose this was the risk in getting this deal. Overall I would definitely stay here again as the nightly rate was really good, considering the quality of the hotel. We did not opt for breakfast as we felt that 12 euros/person was pretty pricey and Barcelona has amazing bakeries everywhere - we ate breakfast pastries and coffee each morning for about 8 euros for both of us.

Room Tip: If you definitely want a double/queen bed, make sure you don't get the deal where they offer you...

Loved this hotel when we were there in July 2012-had the quick breakfast in the bar every morning and paid a bit more for the Sagrada Familia view. Well worth it. They had a problem with the hot water in the shower on our last day-apparently a water main in Barc. was problematic but other than that it was a great hotel. Our first night there we had "bar food" on the top of the hotel, it was lovely. very convenient location and nice part of town

We managed to get an offer on this hotel and we couldn't fault it.The rooms were spotless. The shower was great with plenty of hot water and the toiletries were replenished daily.Reception staff were excellent. What they didnt know they found out and printed for us.Breakfast was perfect to have before a full days touring around the city.We absolutely recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose a room on a high floor overlooking the Sagrada Familia

The bed was so incredibly uncomfortable, it was like lying on bricks. The air-con has weird instructions and it tells you that certain things are "impossible". A proper English translation with better instructions is needed. The staff working the breakfast buffet are scarce and nobody came to take our order for hot food and we were ignored by anyone who walked through. Having hot food out in the buffet would be better. At least we could serve ourselves because nobody else did!

Dear Guest,

We are sorry to know that you went through these issues during your stay in our hotel.. Our air conditioning system is set to be adjusted between 20 to 24 degrees which is an optimal temperature for indoor locations. We apologize if the instructions were not clear enough. We'll take note of your suggestions to improve the quality of the stay. Regarding our breakfast, it is a self-service buffet, and the hot food needs to be ordered to a waiter. On high-demand days, it may be possible that the waiters are running to keep the service up so we apologize if that could have made you feel ignored. However our waiters are pleased to take your order if you kindly approach to them. We hope the rest of the stay was pleasant. Kind Regards, Online Departament.

Stayed three nights in this hotel last weekend. Hotel is one block from Sagrada Famillla and can be accessed via blue or purple metro lines. When exiting the metro station you will see a Burger King restaurant and a filling station. Walk to the top of this street and turn left, the hotel is approx 100 metres on your left.
The hotel has a modern boutique style and the furnishings would be what u would expect to find in an Ikea store. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was 12 euros and included all the standard items. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you had to request it.
Location was perfect and the city centre was only four metro stops away.
