“An unforgettable experience of Italian cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

At each and every time I have eaten, in this small and cosy Italian restaurant of Barcelona,be with my wife, my friends or relatives I have always have had a marvellous taste of the "vera" Italian cuisine only truly connoisseurs can find in Italy. A restaurant which can be compared in terms of Italian cuisine to those which the guide Zagat would rate with a 27 such as the popular "Al di la" of Brooklin or the snobbish Relais & Chateaux "Marea" of CentraL Park, both in New York. This is my fourth year as customer of Gravine. Each time I come to the restaurant I feel more and more at home due to the warm hospitality of the owner, the chef and the waiters. Usually I come to Barcelona twice a year and I come to eat at the restaurant as many times as I can for never have I been disappointed: on the contrary always I leave the table fully satisfied. I recommend each of the dishes in the Menu, but in addition, Giovanni (the owner) or Cristian (the Chef) can prepare for you other Italian specialities according to the best fresh products of the market. Let them guide you: you will not be disappointed. Some suggestions however:
For Antipasti:
Melanzana affumicata con pane tostato
Burrata con pomodorini, rucola e balsamico de Modena
Calamaro con sbrise alla piastra
Zuppetta di cozze e vongole
De Primi Piatti do not miss:
Corvina a la plancha
Risotto al nero di sappia "riso canaroli"
Risotto with lobster

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

We have just come to Barcelona from Italy and have found ourselves in this restaurant twice already. It is located in the old city, small, welcoming and has wonderful food. It is Italian but with a nod to its Catalonian setting. The burrato, buffalo mozzarella, tomato and rucola salad, is wonderful; the vanilla infused lamb incredible. Ristorante Gravin (it's correct name) would be worth a visit wherever you are.
