We visited Barcelona in late Nov 2012. The hotel is located in the Gothic area of the city so you can easily reach on foot many places of interest (las Ramblas is within 5 minutes walking distance, passeig de Gracia and Placa Catalunia are also very close). There are many things to do around and many nice restaurants, tapas and cafes to sit. The staff at the hotel was really friendly and helpful and in addition to that next to the hotel there is a tourist information desk for any additional queries.The room was clean and nice, probably not the biggest you've ever stayed in but the bathroom was big enough. Breakfast was very rich and tasteful and if i recall correctly it was served until 11.00 am.
If we ever visit Barcelona again we will definitely stay at Catalonia Catedral.

I cant say enough good things about the Catalonia Catedral hotel. It felt personal even though its not such a small hotel. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to greet us and make us feel at home. I loved the design of the rooms which were comfortable even though they were on the small size. The rooms were modern, very clean and had lovely comfortable beds. Rooms have their own kettle and hairdryer so you can make your own coffee or tea but you probably wont want to given that there are so many great restaurants close by. And for such a central hotel, the rooms are really quiet.

I will definitely return.

Catalonia Catedral is located in a perfect location for exploring the Gothic Quarter; far enough from Las Ramblas to feel quiet and comfortable, but easy enough to walk if you choose. Front desk staff warned us of pickpockets but we had no problems. The area felt safe. Lots of great restaurants nearby. We especially enjoyed Cafe de l'Academia for dinner, and Buenas Migas near the cathedral was a nice stop for quick lunch and coffee. Front desk staff were very helpful with making dinner reservations for us. We had considered staying in L'Eixample and are so glad we chose the Gothic Quarter instead (El Born would have been very nice as well). We had a terrace room and really liked having the extra outdoor space (although not much of a view). The room terrace does provide access to the rooftop pool deck, where the view is more expansive. The only small negative was the very odd assortment of toiletries (a toothbrush was provided but no body lotion or shower gel, for example). No in-room coffee maker, but water kettle for tea/instant coffee was a plus. Highly recommended!

This 71-room hotel a la Philippe Starck modernism was comfortable, close to major attractions, one did not have to take the 13 euro breakfast as there are plenty of good cafes in the Cathedral Square and nearby. The staff was extremely nice to a friend we met in B who became ill and had to defer her return to England. Our room was quiet, since the hotel is located off the Cathedral square, not near any outdoor cafes.
