The restraunt looked OK from the outside and it would be a nice place to sit out in the summer, but the food was terrible. Feta salad to start, well over-dressed just tasted of vinegar. Then an overcooked steak served with 3 soggy potato wedges. Do not waste your money!

“First time in my life seeing a running mouse in a restaurant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

This review could have been going the opposite way- as this tapas bar is well located, with a nice decoration and friendly service- we actually went back there for diner after having a coffee there on our first night in Barcelona.

Unfortunately after a quite nice meal and lovely dessert, we were just having coffee, when the couple at the table next to us, sitting on couch, paid their bill and mention to the waiter that an animal was going around their table.
First thinking it might be a coacroach- still common in hot weather cities- we looked and -yuck- it was a small mouse coming out from the couch and looking at us-
We got up and paid our bill, while mentioning the fact to the waiter he replied to us " really? a "Raton" (small mouse) is here? it probably came from the street door....
Surely the Raton was here before as i have now read that another customer saw one in November....
To say the least, we avoided tapas bar on Paseo de Gracias for the next few days....

“A Good Choice on the Paseo de Gracia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

I'm not sure about the motivations for the poor reviews found here, but we actually ate at Navarra twice while in Barcelona because of the good food, the reasonable prices, the decent service, and (above all) the location that cannot be beat. The food was not the best we had in Barcelona but it was quite good. If there was an issue (and there was once with undercooked chicken) the staff had it fixed immediately. The menu is large and varied and everything was quite good. The prices were right on target for Barcelona (especially given the excellent location). The two waiters who served us were both friendly and plenty attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend Navarra.

“Awful cuisine!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012 via mobile

Please please please do not waste a single euro on this restaurant. It looks good from the outside however the food was diabolical. We ordered chicken that was served with no garnish and was the most dismal thing I have seen on a plate for years! The only thing it was fit for was the small mouse that was running around between our feet! You have been warned!

“Tourist trap - check your bill!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

We sat outside on a sunny autumn day, and it was a nice spot to watch the crowds around the Catalunya square. The waiter wasn't unfriendly, but just seemed like he genuinely didn't care about us at all. When we asked for water, he brought us a small bottle and one glas. When we asked for a bigger bottle, he said they only had the small ones - even though we could see people at the other tables with bigger water bottles. He probably couldn't be bothered to go inside to get what we wanted.

The food ranged from okay to terrible - I had some paella which was okay, my parents had some kind of pasta dish (tasteless and burnt) and some cod (alright, but nothing special). After we had paid and left, we realised that they had charged us 5 euros too much for the cod. They probably do this all the time, since they know people aren't coming back anyway!

This place gets one point for the nice location, and one point for the paella and cod, which wasn't great, but not that horrible either.
