“Second trip to this hotel - it was better last time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

It's our second time to this hotel. We booked it again beacuse we liked it, it was close to the beach, rooms were big and clean. This time we were a bit disapointed. Check.in took a very long time, even though we had already paied for the rooms. Not a great start. It still very fancy, and out room was big. But it smelled really bad the whole weekend. The cleaners didn't do a very good job, and we didn't get more toilet paper one day - and I feel that's a basic for the cleaners. There were also serveral mosquitoes in our room and we got a lot of bites. We never opened the windows, so they were already there I guess. The AC works very good and it's great that the Wi-Fi is free. The breakfast was okay, but I think it was a bit expensive.

we spent four nights here in an executive room which allowed us access to the executive lounge and terrace on the 15th floor. This was a fantastic extra, free drinks and snacks all day, calm and peaceful! Breakfast was great and the service very good. I would recommend it, but be prepared to use public transport. The tram service was great for the beaches and we felt safe at night as there was always security guards on board. The metro is also very easy to use and cheap. Overall a great stay here at the zero.

Two girlfriends and I stayed in Barcelona for three nights in June. We had a great time. The hotel was in a very safe feeling area, close to the beach and metro. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was incredibly clean and modern. Some people said there was a problem with the window in the bathroom and being able to see each other, but we just turned the lights on in the room while someone was in the bathroom and we couldn't see the person in the shower. It really was not a big issue to us! Great pool. We also got massages and enjoyed the spa while we were staying and it was fantastic, very well priced for a hotel spa massage. We opted for the breakfast and it was well worth the money.

We enjoyed our short stay here. It is a funky hotel.

We made our booking through booking.com. We found the check-in process slow. We ended up needing two rooms as the rooms only accommodate 3 people, not four, however the hotel was able to provide us another room on the same floor for our two children.

We ordered pizza for room service and a bottle of red wine. The pizza was suitable to share between 2 people.

There is a pool available on the roof top, which the kids described as a big bath, but it was refreshing to have a swim when travelling. I was surprised you had to hire towels for the pool - a small cost of 3 euros. The hotel had free wifi and was air conditioned.

There is a restaurant with a buffet, but we chose a cafe nearby. There is also a large shopping centre nearby.

Excellent hotel, especially given the proximity to the convention center and beach. The amenities were very nice (pool, bar and gym), and the staff were out-going and pleasant. Also, the 15th floor lounge was great. It was a wonderful place to hang out and get some work done in a relaxing environment. I look forward to next year's convention.

Stayed twice, 2 days at start of a cruise and one day at end – thank you a fantastic stay.

Location: 15 minutes on the super-efficient underground to the gothic centre. Buy a ten journey ticket for under 10 Euro, super value. The station is 400 metres walk.

Places to eat and drink: In the hotel, the bar looks stark but venture in and you are rewarded with a lovely outside seating area with lovely sofas, water features, nice lighting and background music. Across the road from the hotel is a very reasonably priced bar Las Ramblas where you can join the locals and watch the world go by, not trendy just a nice straight forward non-touristy bar where you will get a warm welcome. My wife is vegetarian so we ventured out to the terrace restaurants on the rear of the third floor shopping centre (it is actually a nice setting). Again a place locals go to eat, always a good recommendation.

The hotel: It’s a modern hotel located in the conference centre area. If you are looking for gothic charm this is not the hotel for you, however if you want a comfortable base to explore Barcleona that offers very good value for money and great service, you will enjoy this hotel. Listen to the hotel porter, as we explained our itinerary he told us how to save money on items such as the open top bus tour.

It is however worth checking out before the midday rush, not a drama but worth bearing in mind.

The hotel is on the opposite side of the city from the airport, adds about 10 euro to the taxi fare.

Overall: When we visit Barcelona, this will be the first hotel we check out, not a fashionable area, but none the less a great base to explore this fantastic city.

It was so nice to check in at this hotel, fast and with a smile. I had arrived at 10:00am of a flight and no problem with an early checkin.

We did have a small problem with one of the rooms, The door locked and we could not get in. The master key also did not work, But the hotel soon fixed this.

Every thing is just great, Staff are helpful and care about there guest.

I will be staying here on my next visit to Barcelona.
