The location is great, next to a beautiful park, close to Marina metro station, not far to supermarket, easy access to center. We had a twin room with kitchen, air conditioning, tv, fridge. in the kitchen there was no kettle, nth to prepare a cup of tea or coffee, we had to use a saucepan to boil some water. Beds quite comfortable, bathroom big enough. The worst thing out there were cocroaches in da toilet and kitchen!!! B4 u switched the light on in toilet u had to prepare urself for trampling them, cocroache dance ;) Breakfast was brought to our room, cornflakes, milk, yoghurt, donut, jam, biscuit.

Despite some people find this hotel's not worth its price, i cannot agree with that: we stayed there in August 2012 for 11 nights and paid 780EUR for a twin room with kitchenette and fridge. Not that bad, i guess.
The GOOD POINTS for choosing this place to hang out in Barca are the following: the price, wired internet speed is average, but fine, nice twin room (we got a corner room with 2 windows), mini-kitchen with fridge and electric mini-stove (with no oven). Regular replacement of bath supplies, which are very basic themselves- just shower gel and shampoo. Bathroom is not that big. But not that tiny as it can be. They also have luggage storage.
I enjoyed their breakfast: some reviewers complain there is a small selection of meals for the people coming late. I used to have a late breakfast there and the only thing missing before the closing were melons; but you can simply ask for cheese or bread, or butter if it’s missing.
The wardrobe in the room is of a good size: two medium-sized suitcases would fit in.
Excellent location: 15 minutes to walk to the beach, 10 to El Gotic and North Railway station. Just in front of the lovely park and the Zoo. Staff was fine, they have 24-hour reception. There is a large supermarket Sorli Discau just 2 minutes from the hotel, on C/de Napols. And do not miss an authentic cheap&cheerful chinese eatery just 10 minutes from the hotel at Ali Bei 65!
Bad points: very noisy neighborhood due to noisy roads, many bikers. Cleaning was average, we stayed there for 11 nights, the floor was cleaned 4 or 5 times. No tea/coffee maker as advanced! We asked the receptionist about the missing electric kettle, and she said that “tea/coffee maker” is just a pan to boil water in. A pan!
No air conditioner! As we had a twin room with a street view, it was very uncomfortable to sleep with windows open and with a working fan. Too much noise and very hot in summer. So I’d recommend to ask for rooms with inner yard view, it is much quiet there. Paid for the stay at the check-in.
So, for me, the only major drawback of the hotel is the lack of air conditioning. Everything else is quite good. It was the best offer for this money we could find before the trip, as we were looking for a room with kitchenette close to the beach and to the center.

Room Tip: room 101 has a street view with a noisy traffic, but it features two windows, which make the room lo...

We booked this hostel via their website. They offered a "single room double use" which we thought meant single bed for two people - don't be mistaken, what we got was a twin room - it wasn't comfortable for us as a couple. The most important thing though - don't go there in the summer. Fan is not enough to keep you cool. It's hot, there's no air in the rooms - and we visited two of those - in the first one the water heating machine broke so we had to switch.
If you have enough money, book a regular hostel with air conditioning - this is just a dormitory. Bathroom wasn't that nice. The continental breakfast was very nice though, so was the staff.

it makes life difficult not to have air conditioning in june in barcelona. it was very difficult to breathe inside the room. dont ever choose a room that looks to the main street, it receives sun early in the morning, which makes it unbearably hot. curtains dont help to prevent from the strong sun. I was sweating during night while I was trying to sleep. moreover it was very noisy during night, which keeps me awake during night!!!

anyway for this price barcelona(I paid over 40 euros per single person), it is one of the good places that you can stay. its location is very central.

I recommend here if you can afford to give 10 more euros, if you can go to Melon district. or pay 20 euros more and stay in a 3 star which may not be close to center.

Room Tip: dont ever choose a room on the main street.

I stayed here during the blazing hot summer months in 2011 whilst backpacking through Europe. Spain was a last minute decision, so the choices of hostels were limited. Be sure to enter in the address correctly - my iPhone reverted the address to an area about 15 minutes over - sucked at arriving at midnight. Regardless, the location is fairly decent for Barcelona. You`re out of the hustle and bustle, yet are within the best shopping and nightlife districts in less than a 20 minute walk. Barceloneta is an easy 15 minute walk, and Marina metro station is close by, The room I had lacked air conditioning and soap to wash the included dishware.. other than that it was fine for a single traveler. Breakfast was included with each day of my stay - the selection was ample. WiFi is only available downstairs in the lobby, however there is a computer for guest use. The staff speak moderate to well English, and are fairly helpful in regards to getting around and spending time in BCN. Thinking back, I`m not entirely sure of the price, but I am assuming around 30-40E a night. Which isn`t the best, but not terrible considering last minute reservations.

Room Tip: Lower floors are cooler, Keep your shutters closed during the day.

This is a great hostel, it is in a very good location close to arc de triomf metro and marina metro and other forms of transport supermarkets and restaurents and bars,
it is clean safe and secure.
it was great having ur own ensuite and mini kitchen the hostel has a 24 hour reception,
staff can speak english but not very friendly. i stayed aug 2009.
the only downside to this hostel was that it did not have airconditioning, and this was a big problem as room temperture was in the 30s.
I wouldnot stay here in the summer months, fans are provoided. Dublin guy 40+
