The Hanoi is a regular lunchtime haunt for their set menu, which at 11,50 euros is a bargain for a 4 course feast of Vietnamese food, including a very decent house wine. There is always a choice of 2 starters - salad or soup as the season goes, or spring rolls. A great favourite is their musi, finely chopped seasoned duck served on lettuce leaves which is the current offer. Next course are steamed dumplings with mustard sauce, and the main course offers 6 or 7 fish or meat options, all good, served with rice cooked in leaves. Desert is generally fresh fruit salad, or candied apple fritters.
In the evening, there is an option of 2 tasting menus or à la carte. The duck is excellent, as are the scallops.
The restaurant itself is elegantly decorated, with fine linen and good service. I personally find the lighting level a bit lower than I would like at lunchtime in particular, but this is really my only quibble.
Overall, highly recommended.
