Description: In 2000 ABaC Restaurant opened its doors in his first location, Carrer del Rec 79 in Barcelona. In May 2008 changed to his new address in Avenida Tibidabo, 1. The gastronomy is the fundamental axis of the project. The restaurant awarded with 2** Michelin, and nominated by The Best Restaurant 2011 in Catalonia by the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy, can seat up to 56 diners. Located in the newly constructed pavilion in direct contact with the garden, the interior and the exterior are found through large windows. It is a caprice of whites, in all tones. In a calm, neutral and elegant atmosphere, the sense of sophistication is shaped by the small details and the materials used, as well as a sophisticated combination of lights. The kitchen of 200 m2 has been designed by Joaquim Casademont. It is a black container, in which stainless steel furniture takes all leadership, an effect that has been reinforced by the lighting, a route marked by leds serves as a guide and allows the guests to cross it. Rooms for private events with a capacity of 20 to 60 diners respectively, complete its restoration facilities. The "Lounge Bar", which opens until 2.00 p.m. and where the music, light and color of the room subtly change;There is also an extensive cellar, offering near 1000 references, and from which you can select your perfect wine. Chef Jordi Cruz and his team of young professionals develop a creative cusine of superb technique, based on the product and which meets both creativity and tradition. In addition, our attentive yet friendly service create a professional but relaxed atmosphere, which makes ABaC holder of 2** Michelin.

The restaurant is located 10 minutes taxiride from Passeig de Gràcia, up the hills.
The hotell and restaurant ABaC delivers architecture, design, a ZENgarden and truly amazing restaurant. Professional service in a calm, sophisticated, friendly and relaxed environment.
On a warm day; sit in the garden and enjoy your dinner.
Just make sure to reserve a table in time!

“All-out gourmet experience - two Michelin stars largely deserved”

As we make it a habit of trying out nice gourmet restaurants while on holidays, during our last year's trip to Barcelona (wonderful city by the way, we absolutely loved it), we had booked a dinner at ABaC. Having heard very positive things about its young chef Jordi Cruz and knowing it had been awarded 2 Michelin stars, we were very curious to try it out.

The entrance to the restaurant is quite understated (you have to ring at the gate of a rather large fence), but we found it without problems. The interior is very elegantly decorated, largely in white with curtains giving a nice sense of privacy and also dampening the sound effectively, so that you can have conversations without being bothered by those of other guests; the indirect lighting also creates a very cozy atmosphere. Comfortable chairs, and the tables are not too large to feel too removed from each other.

Although we were a bit late (due to problems with public transport), the staff graciously accepted us and was in general very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable (also in English for me as I did not speak Spanish or Catalan).

Now, the food.

It was, to put it simply, one of the best dining experiences I've had so far, easily on par with other two-starred restaurants I have been to. Very inventive, but also with lots of local food ingredients, perfectly prepared and presented. Each dish was a delight to discover and the only regret was that it had to end at one time. The portions are small, but due to the considerable number of dishes this is just perfect in order to be able to savour each of them and not be sated too quickly.

Here's our menu from that evening:
- Nitro sour yogurt lollipop with Iranian caviar
- Thai curry with sea urchins
- Frozen Sichuan pepper infusion with foie gras, figs and sweet and sour migas (fried bread)
- Liquid parmesan gnocchi in bergamot butter with nuts, lemongrass and truffle mushroom infusion
- Giant prawn with small aubergines, grilled charcoal served with coral gravy, sea sprouts and orange skin
- Smoked steak tartar, seasoned snow-like beef, cooked egg-yolk, veil of mustard and pepper bread brittle
- Rice, farm chicken, St. Felicien cheese, nuts, rocket lettuce flowers and an egg yolk cooked with candied garlic
- Mediterranean tuna belly with macaroni in ponzu sauce, kumquat skin, mizuna, crispy artichokes and spicy roots purée
- Hare a la Royale, stewed stuffing, roasted loin, foie gras, pineapple and pine nuts
"Lima"
- On a bed of smoked bread brittle, roast biscuit, banana, coffee, vanilla and bourbon

All of these were quite extraordinary, but I still remember that I was particularly impressed by the prawn and the tuna. Absolutely delicious.

We also took accompanying wines for each course (I think there were 5 different ones in total), and they were very well chosen and perfectly fit with the dishes.

Obviously, you do need to allot some time for such a gourmet dining experience, as with all establishments of that caliber. We spent about 4 hours at ABaC, and still it was over all to quickly.

The price was, considering the quality and variety of the food, quite reasonable actually. In Paris for example you would easily pay 50 EUR more per person for the food alone.

All in all, I can recommend this restaurant without reservation for an extraordinary gourmet dining experience in Barcelona.

“Excellent Combination”

This restaurant is worth a visti. Their menu is excellent and most of the personnell too. Whereas, one of the most important person, the sommelier, was way too hasty. He probably really was busy, but in this kind of restaurant it should not be reflected to customers. He did not really devote time for picking up the wine, in our case high echelon cava.
They catered well for gluten free diet person and there was not noise around even though the restaurant was pretty full.
Very good place to visit.

“Fantastic dining experience”

You walk in and the journey starts. it is a calm, quiet and relaxing atmosphere, you sit back in your comfortable chair and just enjoy. We had the sampling menu and every dish was amazing and also amazingly presented. The service was great and the wine delicious. We were there for 4 hours but if felt like nothing and you walk out just think what an exceptional experience.

The food was great, and the ambiance was romantic. We had to ring a bell just to enter the property. It made us feel that we were somewhere special - which we were.
