We did a city trip with Ryanair to Valladolid.
It was just great. We had fog the day we arrived and had to be brought over from Santander. This was an extra trip of a couple hours of drive. This was just great as an introduction to this area. We could see the nice natural area and beautiful nature between Santander and Castilla et Leon.
Valladolid is a beautiful twown were you still find typical Spanish life. There are plenty of restaurants and tapas, these provide food and drinks at still very low prices. I do speak a little Spanish, and they don't speak anything else, as they are still Spanish in blood and vains. They are very friendly and willing to try to explain what they mean.
There are a lot of nice building and historical visit places, but a lot of them are under reconstruction. We were very tired every evening as we could not get enough of walking through the beautiful old city area with nearly every 100 m a church or a building that was worth to be seen. We took over 150 pictures. The weather was sunny and the air is very pure for a big town. The town feels safe and is quiet for a big town.
There are many shops from all price classes, and not yet the huge ones but nice smaller and well decorated shops. We stayed in the Tryp Recoletos hotel, this seems far one of the best hotels of town, beautiful rooms in nice classic furniture, the situation of the hotel is perfect in the middle of everything worth to visit.
A trip to enjoy if you are a traveller who likes typical things and if you are not the Benidorm tourist, who wants his eggs and bacon and all what you have at home the same, but if you like to see a country in its real way with a lot of typical drinks, food and people. The town is very clean and so are all the restaurants and bars in the recoletos area.
FOR US FIVE STAR WEEKEND TRIP (four days were even too short)
