We went there as a second choice, being unable to get any confirmation from the Alcazar hotel for a room they had offered.
Well, we did not regret it at all. The location is much better, bang inside the old walls, a few minutes from the aqueduc (instead of one mile!), the staff was wonderful and helpful. We had forgotten to ask for garage parking (big mistake!), and garage was full, they let us park in front of the hotel, and looked after our car. For free.
The hotel apparently re-opened in 2006 following extensive renovation, I think it is why it is not listed yet in most guidebooks. It is officially a 3-star hotel, but of similar quality to the 4-star places we had elsewhere in our trip. The room was really nice modern design.
It is not particularly cheap, to say the least, but in terms of price for value I strongly recommend it.
