“Lovely hotel in a great location-nice views to the Plaza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

We stayed 3 nights in mid April, and were very pleased with our choice. The Infanta Isabela is a very charming hotel in a great location right on the Plaza Mayor. Easy walking distance to anything in Old Town Segovia.

Check in was quick and easy, and the staff was very helpful in giving us directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.

Our room was great--very roomy, nicely furnished and there were 3 large French doors, two of which overlooked the Plaza. The bed was a bit too firm for our tastes, but others might find it fine.

The bathroom was small, but just fine. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure.

Wi-fi connection was very good--a consistent connection at a good speed.

We'd definitely stay at the Infanta Isabela again, and would recommend it highly.
(I'd avoid the restaurant attached to the hotel, though--marginal food and service)

We stayed here for two nights during our trip to Spain over Christmas. The hotel is well situated and is an easy 20 walk from the bus station, with a wheeled suitcase. It overlooks the Plaza Mayor and we were given a nice sized room that looked out onto the plaza. We didn't get any noise, because there is quadruple glazing in the windows. There is the smallest balcony, big enough for the air conditioning unit, so you can't sit out and admire everything in front of you.

The room was a connected series of three spaces: bedroom, hall and bathroom, although there was only a door between the bathroom and the hall. It gave the impression of being a suite and it was rather fun having so much space. The bathroom was big, with a big bath. The shower was impossible in some ways, as it was one with multi jets and half a door, so all the water goes everywhere and soaks the towels and floor. Style over substance.

The staff we encountered were all very friendly, particularly the housekeeping staff, who were always cheerful when we met them. The lift is quite small and can be challenging when more than three people occupy it. The wifi was fine too.

So, overall, a good hotel, well located and with good rates.

Room Tip: Try to get one overlooking the Plaza Mayor, shouldn't be any noise with all the glazing.

Great location, right in the central plaza with the cathedral across the plaza. Clean room but bathroom a bit squashy. Good service. Taxis right outside as you need them to get to train station.
We would stay here again for sure.

It's the only place I stay in Segovia because of its friendly staff, charming atmosphere, and a location that can't be beat! In Dec., once again, my expectations were surpassed. The restaurant staff set up a delicious Christmas buffet in our room. The staff at the front desk was helpful as always. The location on the city square is very convenient. The only problem was weak wi-fi in our room.

We stayed two nights at this delightful hotel. It is situated on the Plaza Mayor and it is central for everything. The room was huge and very clean, the bed was very comfortable. We did find it a little difficult to sort out how to work the shower! We took our little dog with us with no problem. We also used the valet parking which was very convenient.
We would use this hotel again and the staff were very helpful when we needed to find the local vet to complete his pet passport.

Romantic, absolutely. View - to die for. Staff - over the top. Attention to detail - unparalleled. We travel a lot. We've been to Spain half a dozen times but never happened to go to Segovia. A short ride from Madrid. Not to be missed. We wanted a hotel that fit this historic and beautiful. This is the one!

Room Tip: Corner room on the 3rd floor over looking the Plaza Major. Room #307.

The Infanta Isabel Hotel is desperately in need of updating but the location cannot be beat. It's right on the lovely Plaza Mayor and just steps from the best restaurants, bakeries and boutiques in town. On Wednesdays there is a delightful farmers market on the square, perfect for sampling the wonderful local fruit, olives, hams and cheeses. The cathedral is right across the square. We stayed in Rm 207 with a tiny balcony right on the square. The balcony only really had room for two people standing. It was a little noisy but we didn't mind because we love to people watch! The room had some kind of terrible potpourri fragrance in it when we arrived but that was easily addressed by leaving the window open for a couple of hours. The new fangled shower was hard to figure out and we ended up soaking the entire bathroom since the shower is only partially enclosed. The beds are a bit uncomfortable and the springs would squeak. Parking was convenient (valet), but expensive. We didn't find the drive up to the hotel difficult at all. I probably would try another hotel if I returned to Segovia, but I would definitely want to be in this area. The hotel just really needs an update
