“Good stay, small bed, but clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

We booked a double premium room. I was disappointed that we did not receive a king bed as requested. It may have been a language issue. We found the hotel to be very clean, good free WIFI, and the staff to be very helpful.

The hotel sits a short walk away from the attractions in Segovia. NOTE: parking is below the hotel and at the bottom of the hill. The bathroom is good size, but the shower we had was small, more of Paris standards.

We did not try the breakfast, but would recommend it if you are traveling early. Most places in Segovia do not open until 9am or later. I found a cortado about a block up from the hotel.

If you are going to the train station in the AM, it is about a 15 mins cab ride tops. Cabs are easy to find.

The front desk people were very helpful.

Been there just for 2 days and I would like to be there for two more. This hotel is very confortable, well placed and very new. It is even cheaper, when you have the change of spend some days there. Food is also very good: despite the fact we have not dinner nor lunch there, just breakfast.

Nice location, everything in the hotel is new and stylish, beautiful view from the windows. We even got the breakfast for free! And also got the map from the reception.

Highly recommended if you are looking for mid-range hotel!

just a one night stay, double room with a great view. not the biggest room ever, but comfy and discrete.

i went with my girlfriend and it was perfect for us, definitely preferable to larger chain hotels, and an amazing location.

receptionists were helpful.

breakfast needs some work, but not disastrous by any means.

I know that this is a common problem in Spain but I wasn't impressed when I was told that the spaghetti on the room service menu was completely without meat and only had tomatoes only to be given one laden with tuna. When I explained that she had said it was only with tomato and I don't eat seafood or meat she insisted on trying to leave the dish with me in case I changed my mind. In the end I had to assure her that I would pay for the meal just to get her to take the meal away as there was no way I was going to eat it. Breakfast was also fairly average. Room is excellent quality however very dark with only one window looking out onto the walls of the hotel.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

This was our first trip to Segovia and Don Felipe was the perfect place to stay. It's new, beautifully decorated, a sizable room, terrific service and convenient to all of the historical sites (one previous review incorrectly states that the athedral and Alcazar are 15 minute by foot...they are both 2 minutes by foot). Our room had an outdoor balcony with a view of the Alcarzar, which when lit up at night is magical and transports you to another time of Medieval Spain. This hotel is deserving of its 5 stars as it is impeccably maintained and the staff are warm and helpful - a true Boutique experience. if you drive they have a rare garage facility to take care of your car...but, trains to Segovia from Madrid are high speed and only 25 minutes with a short drive by taxi to the Plaza Mayor or Don Felipe. (be careful not to get on the slow train that could take 1 hour and forty-five minutes! If I returned to Segovia, I would only stay at the Don Felipe...its scrumptious breakfast for only $11 and a small convenience bar in the lower level with a beautifully-maintained garden over looking the landscape is a wonderful oasis to unwind in private and tranquil setting.
