“Best home made food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

On my travels passing Burgos, the visit of this restaurant is "a must". Half a dozen times I have visited this clean and cosy place. Difficult to get a greater variety of wines for a good price than at this place. Nov., 13th, I tried fresh boletus, just prepared with best olive oil, salt, pepper and white wine from Duero....delicious. The stuffed mushrooms are also "a must". Spain is famous for "russian salad", at Pancho's, this speciality is certainly a super tapa. Angel, friendly as ever and with a great sense of humour, recommended me the new hotel en front of Pancho's. I promised him to stay there for the next visit. Result: A wonderful evening as always.

“Excellent Tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

The people that run this place are super friendly and take pride in the food they are putting out. And you can taste it. If you are visiting Burgos, this place is not to be missed. We went for lunch, and tried a lot of everything and it was all good. A month later, as I am writing this review, I can still remember the stuffed mushrooms and the dessert tarts. There were two dessert tarts- one was more of a custard and the other was closer to a cheesecake. The cheesecake was PHENOMENAL. Being an amateur baker, I tried to get them to explain to me how its made, but my Spanish is not so great. It's made with a cheese that's local to Burgos, but I couldn't figure out what its called. Anyway, make sure to have it!

“Super friendly owners and fantastic tapas joint”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

Best stuffed mushrooms this side of the Atlantic! Eat or regret forever. All other foods were absolutely delicious. 12 euros pax for lunch! Top this ! Santiago, the owner, is the very best you can find in Burgos.

“Perfect tapas and traditional food in Burgos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

I regularlly travel to Burgos for my business since 2010 and today I discovered this restaurant with a client. The owners (two brothers) are very devoted to their business and you immediately feel at home with the welcoming attitude (rare in Burgos!). The best way to start is in the bar downstairs and do some wine tasting with the advice of Angel and the incredible house made croquettes with ham or mushroom. Next go to the restaurant area and ask for local dishes. I had the "Cordero" and had to ask extra bread to finish the excellent sauce which came with it. Didn't try the desserts yet but seen some on their way to other tables and I definitely will order one next time. Don't hesitate on this one, only locals come, which is a good sign.

“Great selection and fair prices.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012

I stumbled upon this place around 2pm when everything else in Burgos is clsoed down for siesta. It is located off a main plaza in a small alley with several other palces that stay open during siesta. I ordered the menu of the day and for only 12 Euros I got a three-course meal, bread, and a drink. It was a great value and food was fantastic. Even though no one who worked there appeared to speak a word of English, they were very accomodating. I wanted to go back for tapas the next day but ran out of time. I would highly recommend this place.
